As was the case over the summer, this is being led by exports, par= ticularly e-commerce and consumer goods, from the Greater Bay Area. Our int= ermodal process of taking shipments from the Cathay Cargo Terminal in Dongg= uan to Hong Kong by sea for export by air is proving popular with week-on-w= eek tonnage growth. It is now possible to import shipments into the GBA usi= ng this intermodal route too. I=E2=80=99ve always been awar= e of the team=E2=80=99s exciting enhancements to our service to improve the= shipment experience. I=E2=80=99ve already seen for myself how responsive t= hey are in adversity =E2=80=93 we=E2=80=99ve endured some extreme weather i= n Hong Kong over the past month, with one of the strongest typhoons on reco= rd, followed a mere week later by one of the worst rainstorms that also shu= t the city down. Inevitably, this brought disruption to our schedule, and I= have been really impressed with how the operational team goes above and be= yond to reprioritise shipments. We have also been experiencing some temporary disruptions = to our freighter schedule. This is a consequence of some of the issues that= are affecting the wider aviation supply chain, particularly the availabili= ty of spare parts. We will be carrying out a preventative maintenance progr= amme, which may mean some programmed cancellations. Our sales teams will ha= ve the latest information, and I=E2=80=99d like to thank customers for thei= r understanding as we work our way through these issues. We were also able to= take around 100 guests to the Cathay Cargo Terminal to show people first-h= and the CEIV Fresh-accredited facilities, cold rooms and systems that ensur= e that temperature-sensitive shipments are handled and stored correctly. = =09 =09=09 Our wider credentials were also recognised earlier t= his month with some award wins.
