Despite pessimism in s= ome quarters of the industry, we have experienced a pronounced traditional = year-end peak, indicating a level of optimism returning to the market. This= is all the more impressive because we have had to contend with a number of= disruptions that impacted our customers =E2=80=93 from wild weather in Hon= g Kong in the autumn, and then very heavy =E2=80=93 and early =E2=80=93 sno= wfall in Anchorage. We are always mindful of the impact to our customers th= at disruptions may have and I have been incredibly impressed with our team= =E2=80=99s commitment to get cargo moving after these events. The team have= also had to contend with some planned schedule changes because of cargo de= mand to some key markets requiring more capacity, as well as changes to our= schedule due to required checks on our freighters =E2=80=93 mandated by th= e Federal Aviation Administration. =09=09=09=09 Despite these challenges, the good has definit= ely outshone the bad. You can [read more about my thoughts on 2023 below](3D"=), b= ut there are several things that stand out. Our cargo capacity is now back = to 85 per cent against pre-pandemic levels, revenues have stabilised, and w= hile they=E2=80=99re not as high as the past couple of years, they are sust= aining at levels higher than before the pandemic. And while the market has = been dominated by the continuing growth of e-commerce, which suits our geog= raphy and network and will continue to be a major source of air cargo, the = volumes of our specialised solutions have also increased. Specialised solutions is an area we can really demonstrate= our expertise and show that =E2=80=98We Know How=E2=80=99, the message fro= m [= our brand relaunch](3D"hrr~qkF2/a=) in the summer. To back this up, we attained CEIV Lit= hium accreditation, taking more risk out of shipping lithium-ion batteries,= and revamped our Cathay Mail product. There will be more to come as we dig= italise more of our operational processes for greater efficiency and reliab= ility. In commercial terms, our digitalisation programme develope= d with more direct links for our customers to Click & Ship via application = programming interfaces (APIs), giving them direct access to pricing and spa= ce. All the while, we=E2=80=99ll still be available to have more detailed c= onversations about specific requirements using our specialist shipment requ= irements. =09 =09 The year ended with two exciting pieces of news about our = growth ambitions. We have ordered [six next-generation Airbus A350F freighters and secured the right to acquire 20 more so that we can grow our freigh= ter service and network in future years. We are also now accepting imports = to the Greater Bay Area via our intermodal links to Dongguan direct from Ho= ng Kong International Airport. While this region is the engine behind e-com= merce exports, it is also a very strong consumer market in its own right. =09 =09 I think these developments demonstrate we are still in a g= rowth mindset for the long term as we seek to maintain our and Hong Kong=E2= =80=99s premier status for air cargo.
