It=E2=80=99s a r= eal pleasure to return to Cargo after nine years in other parts of the Cath= ay business. It=E2=80=99s been a busy return, and I have attended three [brand= relaunch events, as well as Top Customer Awards Dinners](3D") here in Singap= ore, in Cebu and in Ho Chi Minh City to give me a taste of the region=E2=80= =99s diversity, and it was great to meet members of my team and customers. = I look forward to meeting more of you here in December at an event we are h= osting for the region=E2=80=99s global forwarding customers. =09=09=09=09 If I didn=E2=80=99t know that Cathay Cargo=E2= =80=99s reputation for customer-centricity and sustainability were held in = high regard in the region, I quickly learned, as among my first tasks were = [picking up an award](3D"CEK_eGCG/THZ=) from Asia Cargo News as well as the top pri= ze at the Payload Asia Awards, while my fellow Regional Head of Carg= o Europe Jansen Stafford collected another from Asia Cargo News. I h= ope that this run of successes continues, and many thanks for your continue= d support for Cathay Cargo. In terms of the market, we are now approaching the peak of= the peak, while the cherry harvest has started in South America. The most = pronounced peak is happening out of Hong Kong, led, as it has been all this= year, by e-commerce exports from the Greater Bay Area. Our freighters are = leaving our home hub full. Some, though, have been affected by disruption. = Across the network, we=E2=80=99ve experienced more cancellations because of= extreme weather over the past month, with heavy snowstorms in Anchorage. = Our preventative maintenance programme remains in place as we try to work a= round the aviation-wide shortage of spare parts. There is still a need for = some programmed cancellations to create more certainty around the schedule.= Our sales teams will have the latest information, and I=E2=80=99d like to = thank all of our customers for their understanding. In Southeast Asia, the peak is less pronounced, but there = is no doubt that there has been something of a surge and a recovery on load= factors intra-Asia. This will become a focus of our operations from Southe= ast Asia for the near future. At the start of the year, we were attuned to = the concept of =E2=80=98China plus one=E2=80=99 but now the market is talki= ng about =E2=80=98China plus three=E2=80=99, as Vietnam becomes saturated. = Aside from Vietnam, there are also pronounced movements from Indonesia and = Thailand. This is reflected in the increase we=E2=80=99ve seen in volumes o= f exports of components and accessories =E2=80=93 especially in the consume= r electronics sector =E2=80=93 to the Chinese Mainland for final assembly i= n centres such as Zhengzhou. There the team have celebrated their [first y= ear of operations](=3D"T368LzCr/THZXViszVGh=) in their new cargo terminal, which has enabled both m= ore volumes and a wider mix of special-handling shipments. =09 =09=09=09=09=09 =09 =09 Expertise was also centre-stage in Brussels at the end = of September where our Heads of Global Partnerships and Cargo Digital spoke= at the [Air Cargo Tech Summit](3D"-xm=) about sustainability and digitalisation. = These are topics that will preoccupy the industry in the coming years, and = while we have been awarded for our innovation in both of these
