I want to talk to you today about our latest initiative at the Comptroller's Office that we launched

I want to talk to you today about our latest initiative at the Comptroller's Office that we launched this week [ Hey {NAME}, I want to talk to you today about our latest initiative at the Comptroller’s Office that we launched this week. [ We were able to ensure Nassau County residents’ participation in the National Association of Counties (NACo) Live Healthy Discount Program. The free program provides a variety of helpful discounts for those who live in Nassau County, and their pets! The program includes: No-cost Prescription Discount Program - Save money at 66,000 pharmacies at home and nationwide - Save an average of 30% on the retail price of prescription medications Low-cost health discounts nationwide - Discounts on vision services, dental, hearing aids and screenings, diabetes supplies, prepaid lab work and more. We know that buying prescriptions was difficult before the pandemic started, and even more so now with high unemployment and increased health risks. That’s why we knew how important it was for us to find solutions for our community members, and we’re so excited to roll this program out for you. “This is a great program for County residents who are uninsured or under-insured to help save people money on their prescriptions,” said Tracey Edwards, Long Island Regional Director of the NAACP. “Working with the Comptroller, we’re raising awareness so that people can save money in a time when they need it most.” “COVID-19 has exposed what we already knew: Huge equity gaps are ever present on Long Island. Jack and his team understand these gaps exist and how they affect our communities,” said Theresa Sanders, President and CEO of the Urban League of Long Island. “This free discount card will go a long way in mitigating the cost of medication and helping residents save money.” "It's really vital that our families don't have to choose between paying this month's heating bill or getting the critical medications they need to stay healthy and remain alive,” said Jacob Dixon, Founder and CEO of Choice for All. “The launch of the Live Healthy program will be able to help residents (and pet owners) across Nassau County who need assistance when purchasing their medications." Here’s how it works. Nassau County residents can sign up for the discount card at no-cost. It is available to residents with and without insurance and saves consumers money on prescriptions that are not covered by insurance. The card will work at over 66,000 participating pharmacies to ensure that we’re paying the lowest price for medication. (The card also works for some pet medication!) [Want to learn more about the program? You can read our press release and sign up here.]( [READ MORE]( I know this past year has not been easy, but we’re working hard to help ease some of the burdens. Thank you again for your support and I’ll be in touch soon. Best, Jack Paid for by Jack Schnirman for Nassau This message was sent to: [{EMAIL}](#) | You can unsubscribe by [clicking here.](
