[Image] Round Up of the Week Hello, At GroupM's TYNY conference, where the entire A&M industry had united to discuss the past, present and future of sports marketing, there was really one question that everyone had on their minds - will JioCinema take over TV? After a few rounds of follow-up questions, this imminent question finally popped up and there was a huge chuckle that spread across the room. While it was met with a usual, "Time will tell" response, that time has finally arrived. According to a recent BARC and [data.ai]( [report]( on average 97 million viewers tuned in on JioCinema daily during IPL 23, as compared to 93 million viewers on TV. After 'who owns the idea' debate, IPL's TV vs Digital has perhaps been the biggest debate in the A&M industry. And it is clear that digital is the future. Apart from JioCinema, another disruptor that is going to tie up with Reliance Retail is Shein. With its comeback, the fashion industry is likely to see major ripple effects as Shein is known for its fast fashion, which would add monetary pressure on its competitors and also have an impact on its employees. While JioCinema has locked horns with Disney+ Hotstar and had an impact on other international OTT players in the country too, Netflix is finally seeing some stability. As per Netflix's recent report, its ad tier has gathered about 5 million monthly active users. The advertising and marketing industry is about to get on the battleground too at the [Abby](. The industry is excited about Goafest, which is right around the corner. Creative folks are worried about AI's implications on the A&M industry and with multiple future-looking sessions at the annual fest, the industry is looking forward to getting some clarity. Social Samosa spoke to the [committee]( it about what's in store and the challenges they face behind organizing it. Apart from that, the social media world is rapidly changing too. At a recent Meta event, [Instagram]( new features at a product education workshop in Mumbai, to help creators unleash their creativity and earn more from their Reels content. Speaking about its future, Meta's [Arun Srinivas]( told us that businesses need to have an open mindset when it comes to content creation and creators. From the IPL treasure trove, we did interviews with [My11Circle]( about how it is creating awareness around the fantasy gaming category and [Max Life]( on how it is building inclusive communication in the insurance industry through IPL. We also looked into [Juicy Chemistry]( marketing strategy and [McDonald's]( marketing campaign which garnered 31 million+ reach. In the coming week, we would be visiting Goafest and talking to creative and digital experts about where the industry is headed. Stay tuned! Thanks Karuna Head of Content Social Samosa If you no longer wish to receive mail from us, you can [unsubscribe]( Social Samosa, 703, Cosmos Plaza, J.P. Road, D.N.
