[Maya](#) {NAME} -- This campaign has been the most consequential in memory in NYC. We have been facing not only how to recover from COVID but how to turn this crisis into a cure for all that ails us to remake this city into a great place for all of us to live. But instead of more clarity about the results, there've been a lot of questions about what's happening in NYC's election, so we wanted to lay it out. Yesterday, the Board of Elections released unofficial ranked-choice voting results before pulling them down. Officials said there was a discrepancy because thousands of test ballots were included in their tally. At a time when our election integrity is under attack, this is an unacceptable mistake. It's impossible to be surprised, though. Last summer, the Board of Elections mishandled tens of thousands of absentee ballots. The Board of Elections' mistake is a result of generations of unaddressed failures and a system of patronage that prioritizes connection over competence. So what happens now? We're demanding that the BOE fix their mistake and transparently count the remainder of the vote. They must ensure that all New Yorkers and the country can be assured that the integrity of this election is intact so that we can move forward together confident in the outcome -- ready to roll up our sleeves and work together to rebuild our great city! Thanks, Team Maya We're building a movement by and for the people of NYC. Thanks to New York City's matching funds program, contributions up to $250 from NYC residents are generally matched 8-1 by the City. That means a $5 contribution becomes $45 or $50 becomes $450. No amount is too small. Rush a donation today.
