[Maya](#) Hey {NAME} -- Election Day is officially behind us. As we wait on the results of ranked-choice voting, I wanted to fill you in on our path to victory. Check out this memo: To: Interested Parties From: Maya Rupert, Campaign Manager Date: 6/26/21 RE: Path to Victory Earlier this week, New Yorkers headed to the polls to make their voices heard in this historic election. Election night was incredibly successful for our campaign. Right now, we're in second place behind Eric Adams with a real path to victory once ranked-choice voting is taken into account. Here's where things stand: - We started out at a disadvantage. Maya was a first-time candidate who had never run for office before. She had a lower name ID than most of her competitors, and she had to build this grassroots team from scratch while being outspent by every other major candidate. - We outperformed everyone's expectations. In seven months, Maya built a cross-borough, multi-racial coalition that has put her as a top contender in this race. - Maya is in a strong second place. As we go into the ranked-choice voting rounds, we expect to pick up more momentum and continue to rise. - This fight is far from over. Fifty percent of the votes cast in this election will be reallocated thanks to ranked-choice voting. - Every single vote must be counted. Ranked-choice voting was passed by voters, and we must respect that process. We will count every single ballot until all the votes are accounted for. - Our campaign has to keep running. While we wait for every ballot to be counted, we need to continue to work. Staff, offices, election lawyers, and more all require resources. -- Maya Rupert, Campaign Manager Maya Wiley for Mayor I know this was a lot of information, but I wanted to make sure you were up to date with where this race stands. Maya is in this position because in the end, this campaign was not about her -- it was about New York. Your support has gotten us this far, but we need to keep this campaign running until the last vote is counted. [If we're going to give Maya the best chance at victory, we need to make sure she has the resources to pay staff, keep offices open, pay election lawyers, and more. Will you chip in right away to keep us on the path to victory?]( Thank you, Maya Rupert Campaign Manager Maya Wiley for Mayor We're building a movement by and for the people of NYC.
