And truth be told, I kinda love that idea! Not just for that weightless, out-of-this-world feeling, but also because space has always tickled my curiosity. Black holes, meteorites... (let's not forget, Aliens!) - all that jazz is so fascinating, man! Today, I want to share something that's truly out of this world that I came across the other day while going down one of my Googling rabbit holes - growing hemp in space! Yep, you heard it right. Not satisfied with exploring black holes, finding water on meteorites, or probing alien existence, our great scientists have now turned their attention to something a little closer to home - or my home, at least - hemp! So, picture this. You're floating around in the International Space Station (ISS), looking down (or is it up, who knows?) at Earth. It's beautiful... but probably just a little anxiety-inducing. Wouldn't it be nice to have some CBD up there to keep the space jitters at bay? Well, that's precisely what some folks have been working on. Now, nobody's asked us to send up a couple of boxes of [Good Vibes]( to space yet (though NASA, if you're reading this, just let me know and we'll make it happen!). But apparently back in 2019, a nonprofit called Space Tango joined forces with Anavii Market (a Kentucky-based CBD company). They launched hemp seeds into the great beyond, setting up shop in a special zero-gravity plant growth chamber known as a CubeLab. They mimicked Earth's conditions as best they could, using light and humidity levels similar to what we have here on our planet. After a month, they sent the plants back home for a check-up. And now, here's the part that'll blow your space helmet off: the hemp plants grown in space were packing higher levels of CBD and other cannabinoids compared to their earth-bound cousins! Hemp from outer space - now that's what I call a celestial high! Isn't it amazing how far science and human ingenuity can take us? It truly makes me marvel at the possibilities that lie ahead. So next time you gaze at the night sky, just think: there might be some CBD growing up there! Keep on keepinâ on.
