I'm ALL for scientific progress. Especially when it comes to things can really help regular folks around the world, man. Heck, if it wasn't for science I wouldn't be here... And neither would this little CBD bid'ness of ours, right? Even in my lifetime, I can think of so many incredible examples. For one, there's there's the way we communicate. When I was a youngster, staying in touch with people was a whole lot harder if you didn't live close. If you wanted to talk to someone far away, most folks had to write a letter, lick a stamp, and walk uphill both ways to the mailbox. (in 4 ft of snow, if you lived in Canada, or were my dad, apparently...) Now, we've got video calls that put us face-to-face with people across the globe in an instant. And medicine, man, talk about a field that's come a long way. Diseases like tuberculosis, which cost my mum her right lung when I was a little kid... It used to be a leading cause of death, and now it can usually be cured with a full course of antibiotics. I used to think that my '67 Impala was the peak of automotive innovation, but these days, cars are basically computers with wheels. And then of course, there's the internet. Any of you cousins around my age EVER imagine the kind of things we can do now online? Nowadays, your Uncle Tommy is posting memes on Twitter (excuse me, X) and running an online CBD and THC business - who would have thought, man? So science is good. We all agree, right? Progress is good. Life is generally (BIG emphasis on generally there...) getting better. We're moving in the right direction (again, overall)... But then I see a headline like this one: [Hybrid Beefy Rice] "Scientists invent new hybrid food by growing beef inside grains of rice?" Can someone please make this sentence make sense to me? I think this might be the sign of the end, man. What's next - chickens laying omelet-ready eggs? (Inside a cabbage for some reason? ) Growing loaded cheeseburgers in a petri dish? I mean, I've always been a fan of innovation and progress (especially when it's munchies-related). But stuffing grains of rice with beef? That's a magic trick I never asked to see. And how exactly do you "grow" beef? I mean, I get how it works, the normal way... but it can't be beef if it didn't come off a cow, can it? Are there tiny cows inside the rice? If not, then at least one of the words in the sentence can't be true, can it? What do you think about this? Is this kind of... creation good for the world? Or are you like me - preferring your grains and beef served separately, man? Hit reply and let me know, Keep on keepin' on, Peace and love, [Tommy Signature] Tommy Chong P.S.
