When I originally started my email list, one of the first sequences I created was a welcome sequence

When I originally started my email list, one of the first sequences I created was a welcome sequence. The reason? I wanted to have an automated email system that seamlessly goes out to new subscribers... and warms them up for my regular emails. Pretty straightforward stuff... Especially since every email marketing course I consumed kept telling me that - in order to be successful as an email-based business - a welcome sequence would be a MUST-HAVE. So that's what I did. I wrote 5 emails... carefully following their instructions... I included things like stories and helpful content (to give people value)... And I obsessed over every little detail (because I wanted to make sure I got this right). Eventually... I was ready to launch my shiny new sequence to the world... And WOW my new subscribers with the most magical emails ever. But unfortunately... Things didn't quite work out the way I'd hoped 😅 Because, despite building a welcome sequence that I thought would crush... All I got was crickets. Almost nobody ever responded to my emails... My unsubscribe rates actually increased... (which felt bad, considering I only had like 50 people on my list at that time) And I certainly wasn't generating any sales from it. So it obviously wasn't working :( Fortunately... This wasn't such a big deal because I was still working almost exclusively as a freelance copywriter back then, generating 95% of my income via projects, instead of selling stuff via email. But as the months passed by, the thought of my lackluster welcome sequence kept gnawing at me. "Why isn't this working?" I remember asking myself... "I followed X,Y,Z guru's advice. It SHOULD be working!". But unfortunately, it wasn't. And no matter what I did, I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. That is... Until I stumbled across an eye-opening Gary Halbert insight during [my infamous 100-day proven sales letter breakdown challenge](. You see... Gary was a BIG believer in building genuine bonding relationships with readers in your copy... Because the more people felt like they could emotionally relate to you... The more successful your copy was in "shifting" their beliefs... And the more Know, Like, and -- most importantly -- TRUST you could build with them. And once you gained their Trust, they were ready to consider buying whatever you were selling. In fact... Gary called this "Imprinting your reader onto you" Just like how -- in evolutionary biology -- newborns automatically "imprint" on the first moving thing they encounter. It's a process deeply encoded in our genes... And as soon as I saw Gary mention it, I immediately realized that I could probably apply this to my lackluster welcome sequence! So that's exactly what I did. I spent the next few weeks consuming every training about "Welcome/Onboarding/Indoctrination Sequences" I could get my hands on... And I cross-referenced all that info with what I knew about Behavioral Psychology... and the process of Imprinting itself. And pretty soon, I realized... NO ONE was talking about combining these 3 powerful concepts together! So I said... "Screw it... let's create my own unique type of Imprinting Sequence from scratch!" And that's exactly what I did. Over the next few months, I spent close to 100 hours trying to come up with the "perfect" imprinting sequence... Testing every potential variable I could... And conversion-optimizing the HECK out of my sequences. But ultimately, all that hard work... All that "blood, sweat, and tears" were worth it! Because I finally engineered a NEW type of Imprinting Sequence that was working better than anything I've seen before. And -- in addition to building Know, Like, and Trust -- it was generating a healthy amount of sales as well! (DESPITE not even aggressively pitching anything in those emails) In fact... The Imprinting Sequence I built as a follow-up to one of my lead magnets (The Secret Copy Recipe) has so far generated well over $100,000 for me in directly attributable revenue... And it transformed my entire business... Because the automated, "fire and forget" nature of this sequence allowed me to build TONS of leverage... and focus on many other business-building activities. (instead of continually putting work into managing the sequence) Even better... I recently used a slightly tweaked version of this Imprinting Sequence in a marketing campaign that got a ridiculous 88.2% open rate, 50.1% CTR, and a 50% reply rate (!) (while making an ROI within 1 day) So as you can see... This is a super simple, but extremely powerful strategy that works wonders… And that has allowed me to have a significant passive income stream in my business. Now… If you like the idea of creating your OWN profitable Imprinting Sequence… Either to install in your own business… Or to easily sell it as a project for $1,000, $2,000, or even $3,000 (if you’re a copywriter)... [>> Then here’s something cool for ‘ya that I think you'll like ;)](=) Check it out, -Csaba Please add csaba@gameofconversions.com to your address book or whitelist us. Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
