With your support, our movement continues to grow locally, and our effort to deliver compassionate, unifying leadership to North Carolina's 11th district is picking up momentum. {NAME}, This year, Martin Luther King Jr. Day has taken on a new meaning for so many of us. As a pastor, a man of faith, and now as a candidate for Congress, the lessons and legacy Dr. King left behind resonate more poignantly than ever. One of King’s teachings was imploring us to "meet the forces of hate with the power of love." Lord knows we’ve seen the forces of hate grow more intense in recent years. We’ve seen extreme division in our communities. Last year, we endured unrelenting attacks on the same Voting Rights Act that Dr. King fought to enact in 1965. Sadly, after 55 years, we are still fighting the same battles Dr. King did. But this is not a day to lament. Today, let us honor Dr. King’s legacy by choosing love. Let’s commit to protecting and strengthening our democracy by remembering the promise he fought for -- that all Americans have an equal say in the future of this country. On this day of reflection, let's choose love, justice, and compassion. And let's recommit to building an America that represents all of us.
