{NAME}, Like many of you, I've been following the horrific, unprovoked Russian invasion of Ukraine as it unfolds. I want to make sure you know where I stand. Ukraine is a peaceful, sovereign nation. Its people value their culture and their independence, and they are going to great lengths to defend their country. I've even seen reports of senior citizens and school children preparing for Russian attacks. What Putin is doing is not "genius" and it's certainly not "peacekeeping." It's barbaric, and it's a violation of international law. Any American leader who doesn't unequivocally disavow his actions is standing with Russia, with China, and against the ideals of liberty and democracy on which our country was founded. Leading with misinformation, threats, and violence needs to be called out for what it really is - authoritarianism. We won't stand for it. My family and I are praying for the strength and safety of the Ukrainian people as well as the thousands of Russian citizens who've taken to the streets to protest these attacks.
