This should never have happened. Help us save lives today.
Dear {NAME},
Thank you for taking the time yesterday to honor with action the 17 people murdered at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL, using an AR-15. A weapon Iâm all too familiar with from my time serving our country as a Marine. Weapons built on the AR-15 platform and assault weapons are meant for the battlefield, not our streets. This tragedy never should have happened. Thereâs no debating this. Weâve had enough.
Thanks to you, weâre making progress â just this week, our lawmakers moved forward critical legislation. In doing so, they ushered in the most progress the gun violence prevention movement has made in YEARS. [You can help Brady keep up pressure on lawmakers by making a special gift today.](
Long after the camera crews go home, the TV is turned off, and hashtags quiet down, Brady continues to fight for all victims and survivors of gun violence. In the halls of Congress, weâre pushing sensible gun laws. In the courtrooms, we represent victims and survivors to hold gun dealers accountable for irresponsible business practices. In cities around the country, weâre implementing programs to help law enforcement keep guns used for criminal activity off our streets.
Bradyâs life-saving work is made possible by supporters like you. I for one am tired of seeing our streets look like a warzone, and thatâs why I joined Brady to honor victims of gun violence by taking action. Thank you for all you do.
Yours in this fight,
Kyleanne Hunter
Vice President, Programs
P.S. This was a great week for the gun violence prevention movement. Two bills that will close loopholes on Brady Background Checks are moving in the House. [Will you help us sustain the momentum by making a special gift today?](

Subject: 3 ways you can honor Parkland victims
[Honor with Action 2.14](
Dear {NAME},
One year ago today, 17 students and faculty members were murdered in a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Today we reflect on the tragedy of the amazing individuals whose lives were senselessly cut short that day and are filled with anger that the wake up calls that were the mass shootings at so many places including Columbine, Virginia Tech, and Sandy Hook failed to inspire real action beyond thoughts and prayers. But post-Parkland, we finally learned one thing: Ending gun violence isnât about sides. Itâs about lives. Yours, mine, our families, neighbors, coworkers, communities. We are in this together.
In the year since the tragedy in Parkland, Americans, led by our nationâs youth have risen up like never before. Weâre saying enough to gun violence. Enough headlines and TV crews that move on after a day. Enough prayers. Enough funerals. Enough.

Text HR8 to 877-877. Yesterday, the House Judiciary Committee passed HR8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act. It was the first major gun violence prevention legislation to pass the Committee in decades. Now, the bill heads to the floor, and we need your help to ensure it passes the final vote.
Thanks to your activism, support for sensible gun laws is at the highest level since 1993. In November, gun violence prevention advocates voted in droves and elected new leaders who pledged to make this issue a priority. Already, thereâs been action. Just weeks into session, our representatives have introduced more bills focusing on firearms than any almost any Congress over the past decade. Weâre calling on you to help keep up the momentum.
In solidarity,
Kris Brown
President
