Make your voices heard, call your representative and tell them to support HR 8. Dear {NAME}, Tomorro

Make your voices heard, call your representative and tell them to support HR 8. [TAKE ACTION]( Dear {NAME}, Tomorrow the House Judiciary Committee will be voting on H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Check Act of 2019. For the first time in nearly a decade, Congress is considering common-sense gun laws thanks to you and the majority of Americans who voted for a pro-gun safety Congress in the House of Representatives. We have a very real opportunity to pass expanded background check laws that will save lives. [We need you to take action and call your representative and ask them to vote YES on H.R. 8.]( Will your call really matter? Yes! Through the years we have learned that nothing attracts your elected officials interest as much as a switchboard lighting up! It’s a very tangible sign that their constituents really care about the issue. We need as many yes votes as possible on H.R. 8 in order to put pressure on the Senate to enact similar legislation. [Please call your representative today.]( Thanks to Jim and Sarah Brady, background checks became law 25 years ago. In that time, the Brady Law has blocked more than 3 million prohibited gun purchases through federally licensed gun dealers. Brady Background Checks have prevented convicted felons, domestic abusers, and other dangerous people from getting their hands on guns. Private sales like the ones at gun shows and on the internet are NOT covered by the Brady Law and we need your help to close this loophole. H.R. 8 will cover ALL gun sales and strengthen the Brady Background Check system. [Please urge your member of Congress to support life-saving background check legislation.]( (If you can’t call during office hours, a voice mail works just as well!) Let’s make the most of this incredible opportunity to make our country safer. Yours in this fight, Mark Collins Federal Policy & Electoral Manager P.S.
