At least, it worked for Email Players subscriber and novelist David Aquinas. A while back he wrote this in the BerserkerMail Mead Hall Facebook group: === I was being to "nice" with potential fiction readers who would claim a free novella, get on my email newsletter (daily, they were warned) and not leave any feedback (potential testimonials) and after following Ben for a month decided to get out of the friend zone by telling them my books aren't free, they just get a free peek at beta reading copies in exchange for their feedback. I then put out a survey with a curiosity hook they could only get the answer to by submitting their reply to a one question multiple choice survey. I won't regale you with the reactions, but it was priceless, and drew out my first two raving fan testimonials. Way to go Ben. I'm checking my mailbox everyday for my newsletter. This is going to be fun… === Well done Mr. Aquinas. Well done, indeed. More and more people been asking me about fiction: How to write fiction, sell fiction, launch fiction, etc. So I will likely be writing more about that going forward. Especially as I start working on my next fiction series later this year. I am not sure if I want to do the epic fantasy series I’ve been thinking about since I was a wee lad… or do something more grounded and less complicated, but that I’ve also been wanting to do for a long time. Decisions, decisions… But it does have me thinking about selling fiction. In fact, I just posted my own biz plan for my fiction in the BerserkerMail Mead Hall yesterday.
