/Vc3HAI3pFyKcOe-eqqy13sOiK7r0br3I3hfYsL-iEOg= {NAME}, As COVID-19 continues to spread, our healthcare workers are our front line of defense. Nurses, doctors, and paramedics are risking their health and safety every day to treat patients and contain this virus -- and we owe them the ability to protect themselves on the job. Unfortunately, many hospitals and healthcare centers around the country are experiencing a shortage of PPE masks (personal protective equipment). Without these masks, healthcare professionals are at high risk of contracting COVID-19 while working with potential patients -- and spreading the infection to their families, neighbors, and coworkers. Good news: We were fortunate to find 8,000 PPE masks to be distributed to healthcare professionals in my home city of Houston. My team and I have been searching for masks for weeks now, and we were lucky to be able to secure a few thousand. We will continue to search for more masks and other supplies to keep healthcare workers safe. In the meantime, I am working around the clock to combat the spread and effects of COVID-19. Last week, my colleagues in the House -- Democrat and Republican -- joined together to pass an emergency relief package to provide free testing, accessible healthcare, and direct paychecks to Americans whose lives have been upended by this pandemic. Rest assured, we are working hard to turn that bill into law as soon as possible. And finally, my most sincere thank you to the healthcare officials, grocery store workers, and civil servants who are keeping us all safe and informed in these trying times. We cannot thank you enough. In service, Congressman Al Green We have a lot of work to do to keep Al in Congress and we need your help. Chip in now to help keep Al fighting for us.
