I’m writing today about a critical fight going on in Massachusetts. We need your help. Over the past four years, the entire country has seen a steady drumbeat of attacks on abortion access. It culminated last month with the the nomination and confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett to the United States Supreme Court, solidifying an anti-abortion majority on the bench and putting reproductive rights at further risk. While a Biden Administration is welcome news to those of us fighting for reproductive justice, given the make-up of our courts, we need state policies that dismantle discriminatory barriers and protect reproductive freedom now more than ever. [Massachusetts must act now to protect and improve abortion access. Will you sign the petition urging state leaders to pass provisions of the ROE Act as part of the state budget?]( The provisions of the ROE Act included in the state budget will remove and reduce barriers to care in Massachusetts that disproportionately impact Black and brown people, young people, people with low incomes, immigrants, and LGBTQ+ people. Young people shouldn’t be forced to go through an intimidating court process to access care. Patients seeking abortion later in pregnancy shouldn’t be forced to leave the state, far away from their families and support systems, to get the health care they need. [Sign your name to the petition supporting the ROE Act provisions in the state budget.]( Massachusetts has stepped up in response to four years of relentless attacks on reproductive freedom, and we have the chance to lead the way now by improving abortion access. No matter what happens in Washington D.C., our state can set a national example for the rest of the country to follow. [I hope you’ll join me in support of the ROE Act provisions in the state budget by signing the petition today.]( Thanks, Joe --------------------------------------------------------------- Our future, our democracy and our humanity are on the line. Joe Kennedy wants to use the platform he's built to support Democratic candidates, build a diverse and inclusive future for our Party, and help take our country back. But he can only do that with you by his side.
