{NAME} – Last week the House finally came together to pass a bill.  Was it a budget to keep vital government functions going? No.  Was it a bill to make sure no child in America goes to bed hungry? No.  Was it a federal law protecting reproductive rights? Of course not.  There’s a lot of talk right now about TikTok, and last week Congress came together in a bipartisan fashion to force the parent company ByteDance to sell their platform to an American owner – or face a national ban.  Is THIS really their priority?  Right now, Republicans in Congress are plotting a nationwide ban on abortion and are pushing a bill that would functionally shut down IVF in every state. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is gearing up to hear oral arguments on a case that could outlaw the safest and most common method for abortions by shutting down access to mifepristone.  Where is the bipartisan unity to defend bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom – something that is genuinely a matter of life and death for millions of American women?  [Vortex is working to elect bold Democrats who will prioritize the fights that actually matter. Can you pitch in today to elect representatives with their priorities straight?](  When questioned about the TikTok ban by reporters and constituents, many representatives cited concerns about data privacy, the dangers of kids having too much screen time, and disinformation as the reasons for their vote. There’s just one problem.
