Dressing like Trump, Voting Like Trump...

Arkansas deserves leaders who stand for Democracy, not dictators. {NAME},  Prominent Republicans are flocking to New York from all corners to pledge their allegiance to Donald Trump during his criminal trial. Their brazen fealty isn’t just about getting a photo op; it’s a dark reminder of their priorities, which are not with the American people.  Blue suits, long red ties–they’re even dressing like him now to win his petty approval. Doug Burgum (R-ND), Vivek Ramaswamy, and Representatives Byron Donalds (R-FL), and Cory Mills (R-FL) giving an outdoor press conference criticizing the Trump hush money trial in New York, all wearing Trump-like uniforms of blue suits and red ties.]( It’s not the clothes that are alarming; it’s more about the message behind the GOP’s desperation to support Trump, a man who posted about a “unified Reich” who has stated he wants to be a “one-day dictator” at any cost.  More and more Republicans are openly declaring they won’t accept the 2024 election results, which is not the path to go on to preserve Democracy.  This group now includes GOP Senator Marco Rubio, who eight years ago called Trump “erratic” and a “con man,” yet now, as a potential VP candidate, refuses to say if he’ll accept the results of the election should Trump lose. Similarly, GOP Senator Tim Scott, also in the running for VP, has dodged the same question.  Here in Arkansas, the threat that our politicians will follow suit is very real. One of them already has.  In 2020, Rick Crawford joined over 140 other Republicans in voting to overturn the results of that election. Last year, ALL FOUR of our House representatives voted to make Mike Johnson speaker after he led efforts in the House to reject Biden’s victory.  If Republicans still control the House in January 2025, they WILL hand the election to Donald Trump, and Arkansas reps will help them.  That’s why Vortex recruited four bold Democrats to run and flip these seats.
