Hundreds of people are still being [evacuated from their flooded homes](, some being rescued from rooftops, in the southern region of Kherson following the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam on Tuesday. The region's governor said that some 230 square miles are under water. A [knife attack]( in Annecy, a small alpine town in southeast France, has left at least six people injured, including children, at least two of them critically. The foreign secretary has confirmed that a knifeman went on a rampage on a playground. The school children were on a supervised trip to Lake Annecy at the time.
