Greek authorities have yet to confirm the actual death toll. People have been fleeing Pakistan amid the country's worst economic crisis in decades and soaring inflation. Efforts to secure a financial lifeline from the IMF have been complicated by ongoing political turmoil. Meanwhile, police in Pakistan-administered Kashmir have [arrested 12 people]( involved in sending local youth to Libya to then travel onward to Europe. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared a national day of mourning on Monday for the migrants who died. India Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting US President Joe Biden in Washington this week. The two are expected to discuss a [range of topics](, including cooperation on defense and technology, as well as strategies for countering China’s influence. The US plans to share access with India to [critical American technologies]( that Washington doesn’t normally share with non-allies. Modi will also address a joint session of Congress, which is rare for foreign heads of state. Lebanon Celebrated Lebanese chef Ramzi Choueiri has died of a heart attack at the age of 52. He was a [pioneer of Middle Eastern cuisine](.
