Both Moscow and Kyiv have blamed each other for the attack on the Russian-controlled Kakhovka dam and electric plant along the Dnipro River. The damage is expected to have [far-reaching consequences]( both downstream and upstream. Large areas have been entirely flooded and images on social media show much of the dam wall being washed away. The governor of the nearby Kherson region said that about 16,000 people are in the “critical zone.” Israel A Palestinian [toddler shot by Israeli troops]( in the occupied West Bank last week died of his wounds on Monday. Mohammed al-Tamimi was shot in the head last Thursday near his village of Nebi Saleh while riding in a car with his father and was then airlifted to Israel’s Sheba Hospital. The Israeli army said its soldiers were pursuing gunmen. The boy’s father, Haitham al-Tamimi, who was also injured, said he had placed his son in the car and were on their way to visit an uncle. “I hope this message will be heard: Innocence and childhood are sacred,” al-Tamimi said, accusing Israel of targeting “unarmed people, whether young or old, under the [pretext of self-defense](.” Senegal At least 16 people have died since [violent protests broke out]( in Senegal on Thursday. Authorities have also arrested hundreds of people amid the unrest following the sentencing of a popular opposition leader. Ousmane Sonko was cleared of a rape charge, but found guilty of corrupting young people.
