It’s the first such gathering there since India unilaterally took direct control of the region in August 2019 and stripped it of its semi-autonomy. Hundreds of people in the Pakistan-administered Kashmir area held protests against the three-day meeting being held from Monday to Wednesday. Pakistan also lays claim to Kashmir but is not a G-20 member. The meeting of a [tourism working group]( is being attended by around 60 delegates of the bloc. Tunisia Human rights groups are calling for an end to [attacks on Tunisia’s judiciary](, with nearly 40 of them — including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International — releasing a statement on Monday. They are concerned about a crackdown on the judiciary’s independence and the diminishing right to a fair trial in the country. And they’re calling on Tunisian authorities to immediately [reinstate judges and prosecutors]( who were arbitrarily dismissed by President Kais Saied as part of his anti-corruption campaign. Armenia Armenia says it is [ready to recognize]( the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh enclave as part of Azerbaijan if Baku guarantees the security of its ethnic Armenian population. The region has been a source of conflict between the two neighboring countries since the years leading up to the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. Armed conflict broke out in 2020 after Azerbaijan seized control of areas that had been controlled by ethnic Armenians.
