Current President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan faced the strongest challenge to his 20-year rule, but remains popular among many voters. Erdoğan secured 49.5% of the vote, while his main challenger Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu won 44.9%, with nearly all ballots counted. [Both sides agreed]( on Monday to accept the runoff. Thailand Thailand's two main opposition parties have agreed to [form a ruling coalition]( following elections on Sunday. With almost all of the ballots counted and a record voter turnout, the progressive Move Forward party is projected to win 151 seats, with populist Pheu Thai in second place with 141 seats. Voters delivered a powerful message to the [military-backed establishment]( that has been in power since its coup in 2014. Meanwhile, the new coalition could prompt a showdown with its new government formed under a junta-era constitution that still gives the military significant controls. Kenya Kenyan authorities say that a wild male lion, believed to be [one of the world's oldest](, has died after being speared by herders. He was among 11 other lions also speared to death. The Kenya Wildlife Service described the 19-year-old lion named Loonkiito as frail and that he had wandered out of the Amboseli national park into a village in search of food before being killed. The lions were speared after they killed 11 goats and a dog.
