So far, angry exchanges over the war in Ukraine have dominated the talks. The host country says the disagreements may mean that there will be [no joint statement]( from the summit. It’s the second high-level ministerial meeting under India’s G-20 presidency this year. Unlike China, India has growing ties with the West — particularly the US — despite its ties with Russia. Gabon Gabon is hosting the [two-day One Forest Summit]( this week focused on protecting the world’s largest forests. The main discussion is about who should pay for the protection and reforesting of lands that have some of the world’s most-diverse species. French President Emmanuel Macron is attending, but the [absence of other key players](, like Presidents Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil and Democratic Republic of Congo’s President Félix Tshisekedi, may slow down the momentum of the talks. US-Ghana Two survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre — in Tulsa, Oklahoma — Viola Fletcher, 108, and her brother Hughes Van Ellis, 102, have been [granted Ghanaian citizenship]( in a ceremony at Ghana’s Embassy in Washington, DC. During the violent incident in a prosperous neighborhood, known as “Black Wall Street,” 300 Black people were killed — and their property was destroyed — by a mob of white people.
