But much of the capital, Havana, and other parts in the west of the country, where the storm struck, still remain in the dark. Pinar del Río province was devastated, where much of the tobacco is grown for use in Cuba’s iconic cigars. Tens of thousands of residents were [forced to flee]( as flooding and strong winds damaged homes and trees. Guinea Former Guinean President and military ruler Moussa Dadis Camara is [set to face trial](, along with 10 other men, for the role of the country’s security forces in a 2009 stadium massacre. A UN-mandated international commission has indicted them for the killing of more than 150 people and the rape of more than 100 women in the capital Conakry. Protesters had gathered on Sept. 28 of that year, calling on Camara — who came to power in a military coup — not to stand in presidential elections. Police and militiamen then cordoned off the exits, opened fire and [attacked unarmed civilians](. EU-NATO The European Union and NATO are blaming leaks in the undersea Nord Stream pipelines from Russia to Germany on a [deliberate act of sabotage](. Gas is now spilling into the Baltic Sea, creating a potential environmental disaster after the pipelines burst in several locations in Denmark and Sweden, even though neither was in operation amid the energy standoff between Russia and Europe. Meanwhile, Moscow has [also not ruled out]( the possibility of sabotage. Russia has cut back on gas supplies to Europe, while blaming Western sanctions for causing technical difficulties. --------------------------------------------------------------- From The World [Lost luggage finds a new home at this Spanish nonprofit]( [Envera is a nonprofit that sells lost luggage and its contents.
