The death toll from a 6.8-magnitude earthquake in western Chinaâs Sichuan province on Monday has jumped to 74 people, and about 26 others remain missing. The government [reopened roads]( on Wednesday leading to the epicenter of the quake and traffic has resumed. But residents have also been upset over strict COVID-19 lockdown measures that confined people indoors. UN humanitarian chief Martin Griffiths has said that Somalia urgently needs at least $1 billion to avert a famine between October and December, and into early next year. Canadian police have expanded their search for Myles Sanderson, a suspect in Sundayâs mass stabbing spree in an Indigenous community in Saskatchewan that left 10 people dead and 18 others injured. Three of them remain in critical condition. The attacks spanned [13 different crime scenes]( in the James Smith Cree Nation and a nearby village. Sanderson has 59 previous criminal convictions according to parole documents.
