More than [150 Palestinians have been injured]( after Israeli police raided the al-Aqsa mosque compound in East Jerusalem on Friday, with hundreds of people being detained. Worshippers threw stones and set off fireworks. Six Palestinians also died during confrontations with police in the West Bank. The clashes come amid a crackdown by Israeli forces on militants and activists following a string of attacks in Israel that [left 11 people dead](. The Friday morning skirmishes [lasted for six hours](. This latest unrest comes as Ramadan, Easter and Passover take place at the same time this year in a rare occurrence. South Africa
At least 300 people have died, and many are still missing, in South Africa, in what some people are calling the countryâs [deadliest storm]( on record. The death toll is expected to rise as search and rescue operations continue. Torrential rains, plus widespread flash and river flooding also destroyed infrastructure, including bridges, cell towers and water treatment facilities in the KwaZulu-Natal Province, caused by subtropical storm Issa. The Biden administration has granted Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to more than [10,000 immigrants to the US from Cameroon](.
