Parliament has begun debating the motion, with the vote due by Monday. A [simple majority of 172]( in the 342-seat National Assembly is needed, and if it goes through, the former cricket star turned politician could be removed from office. Khan’s leadership has come under increasing criticism, including his [management of the economy](. On Wednesday, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), a main ally, left Khan’s coalition, throwing its support behind the opposition that’s trying to remove him. Khan was elected to office in 2018. Turkey A Turkish prosecutor in the case of murdered Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi has asked a court to halt the trial in absentia of 26 Saudi suspects, and [transfer the case]( over to Saudi authorities. Saudi Arabia has refused to extradite the defendants, and the prosecutor is reported to have said that the case “has been dragging because the court orders cannot be executed on the grounds that the [suspects are foreign nationals](.” The move comes as Ankara tries to repair relations with Riyadh. But the head of Amnesty International has accused Turkey of betraying the Washington Post journalist. Khashoggi was last seen entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in October 2018. Haiti Domestic and charter airlines have [temporarily suspended local flights]( in Haiti. The move comes after protesters in the southwestern city of Les Cayes burned a plane used by a Florida-based charity earlier this week. According to Agape Flights — the nonprofit Christian aviation ministry whose plane was destroyed — the group’s missionary affiliates heard that the rioters [thought the plane belonged to a politician](. Protesters in the country have been calling for an end to kidnappings amid rising insecurity.
