It’s the second stop on his four-day trip to Europe. Biden had met with world leaders in Brussels on Thursday in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. And he also plans to meet with Ukrainian refugees before heading back to Washington. Meanwhile, Finland’s national railway company will suspend services between Helsinki and the Russian city of St. Petersburg from this weekend. The move would close [one of the last public transport routes]( for Russians trying to reach the European Union. The US and the European Commission also announced a joint task force on Friday to reduce Europe’s [reliance on Russian energy](. Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia says an attack that targeted the Jiddah oil depot left the area in flames, ahead of a [Formula One race]( there. Witnesses saw black smoke at the Aramco facility near the international airport, as F1 cars took part in the opening practice session. Yemen’s Houthi rebels also claimed an attack targeting the North Jiddah Bulk Plant near the airport. The [Saudi-led coalition]( backing Yemen’s official government has spent the past seven years fighting the Houthis, who have, in turn, increased their attacks into countries in the region that are part of the coalition. The ongoing war in Yemen has killed more than 100,000 people and displaced around 4 million others. Antarctica Satellite data has shown that the entire [Conger ice shelf has collapsed]( in Antarctica. It comes after days of record-high temperatures resulting partly from an [atmospheric river that trapped heat]( over the continent. The ice shelf was about the size of the city of Rome. Ice shelves play an important role in restraining inland ice and preventing it from flowing faster into the ocean, something that would result in sea level rises.
