Today, people are afraid and nervous that something BAD will happen, because it's Friday the 13th. But, to be honest, I don’t believe in the idea that BAD things happen on this day. BAD things can HAPPEN...regardless. Let’s face it, there’s plenty of days through the year that things can go BAD, so there’s no reason to think today is any different. I’ve had my share of BAD days or BAD seasons in my life, but I’ve learned how to get through them. I can remember back in around 2007 when I started my photography online business and things were going well. Over the course of 2 years I had built up a good amount of traffic to my website and even created a few products with my business name, my brand. It was soon a 6 figure business with 80% margins, so pretty sweet. Then one day I received a letter that said I was violating a trademark of the name I chose for the brand and I was possibly going to be sued. Let me just say...this was a BAD DAY! Super BAD DAY! I spent the next week going back and forth with the owner and finally agreed on terms to forward the traffic to a my new name. But, I had to rebrand all of my content, my products and I had to remove over 50 videos I created on my Youtube channel. Plus, I had to delete my channel in 12 months as per the agreement. Yes, this day SUCKED, BAD! So, I guess you can say…the day I got that letter was a BAD day and it wasn’t on Friday the 13th either :-) My point is…things can happen at any time, but you can’t let that stop you from Taking Action. I moved on and learned a valuable lesson that I will never do again. Always, check your business name and see if it's trademarked :-) But, you do want to reduce your risk upfront if you can help it. Here's an example of how to reduce the risk. If you’re just selling on Amazon (one channel) you are at risk and one day your account could get shut down. I've seen it happen to a ton of sellers and their "business" was killed over night. How do you reduce the risk? You build a BRAND and assets that support your business that are not dependent on one channel. That should be your FOCUS! In my online photography brand I had an email list of about 10,000 people and that saved my butt big time. That allowed me to email my list of what happened and where they could go to consume my content and buy my products. Your email list is your asset that no one can take from you. Side note: If you haven't started building your email list, [go through my free training here.]( It's a HUGE Asset! That’s WHY I’ve been hammering on this point for over 2 years to you and anyone that will listen. BAD days will happen, you just need to be prepared to deal with them. Now some GOOD NEWS :-) There’s 3 new podcast episodes that are published for your listening enjoyment :-) Monday: TAS 722: How DEATH and One Moment Created 100% Clarity (Identifying YOURS) Wednesday: TAS 723: The HYBRID Strategy to GROW Your Business 5X Or MORE! Friday: TAS 724: How to Post Giveaway In MY FB Group to Build My List? Ask Scott #228 [Listen to these episodes here.]( Have an awesome weekend. Take care and as always…Take Action! Scott P.S. We are just 6 days away from Brand Accelerator Live and I’me getting more excited by the minute. I’ve had some ask about if recordings will be available and when.
