.... and avoid the rug getting pulled from under you Hey it's Andy here, I sent this email a few weeks back, not sure if you saw it but this very situation came up in a mastermind call today and it's a horror story. Two of our very experienced Facebook Ads/Groups guys just had their accounts shut down along with their Clients Facebook groups and Ads they were running... TOTAL Disaster :-( In short these guys get their clients leads/customers from FB Ads and set up groups for them, very legit business in mainstream niches, no idea why Facebook spat the dummy? So this really got me fired up to do some training workshops to help you build your own prospect/customer list that YOU OWN and you control. No relying on these platforms that can shut you down in a heartbeat. Not only that, you'll get a ton more clients from this method. Here's the original email I sent below. --------------------------------------------------- I just got off a call with my long term mentor and coach where we discussed some critical topics that I wanted to share with you. They're extremely unsettling as a business owner but you can easily avoid it. One in particular that nails home the recent training I've been doing about lead generation. So just to give you an example of why I look to Jim my mentor for clarity and direction, his average client does 3m per year and he mentors some of the big names you would definitely know in the online space. Today's call was about having control of your business and not relying on rented space as it were. So what I mean here is, as Jim put's it "Never build your house on someone else's land". This just shows how violently the rug can be pulled from under you at any moment! First example is one business who had spent 43mil on Facebook ads and Zuck and the team decided to close them down, no explanation just closed. Yep you read that right, 43mil but Facebook doesn't care, that's small fry stuff to them. All their clients went to zero traffic in one fell swoop... Imagine the panicked phone calls coming in, yikes! Another example is a number of people who had built Facebook groups to high 6 and 7 figures got shut down recently. Boom! No business over night. Just as the word got out about this, one of Jim's Clients was running a 2mil per year Facebook group took action and moved all his members over to his own platform. Sure most of us aren't running ads or groups at this level but it shows that even spending serious dollars doesn't make you immune. Personally I think Facebook is going a bit nuts and overacting to the scrutiny they've been getting. Here's the big point. It's about control and ownership of the customer database. Anytime you rely too much on any of these platforms like Facebook, YouTube or Google, you're building your house on someone else's land. This is why it's crucial to build your own email list so that YOU own the land. Your database is your most valuable asset. During the pandemic the businesses who have an email database could keep in constant contact with their customers, inviting them onto virtual meetings and making offers. I've mentioned it before how 78% of all our clients come directly from our email lists. And it's not just us, Jim also said that among his clients that all but two of them generate most revenue from their email lists. If anyone says to you email is dead, they're talking crap. So if you don't have an email list or you're not actively building it, its' time to get jiggy as they say in the classics. There are a number of great strategies we can use, but the easiest is create a valuable download for your prospects. A PDF report, cheat sheet, Template, Check list etc. are all super effective. (I'll show you some of our best examples in upcoming emails). Find one problem your market has that you can help solve with this. Make it easy to consume, helpful and importantly leads to your main offer. Then most important is follow up! If you do you'll be better than 95% of the marketers out there. Having your calendar fill up with qualified prospects just from sending out some emails is pretty cool. Talk soon, Andy Kelly P.S. If you're a Digital Agency university member we're going to get busy helping you build your prospect email list starting this week, so keep an eye out for the notices. If not, reach out and I'll hook you up! . . . for support please contact us at: Email: support @ socialoxygen.io Tel: (602) 635-7666 . . .
