[] Prevent users from adding email accounts to profile
An administrator wanted to know how to disable New button so users couldn't add accounts to Outlook.
You can’t disable the New button but can use group policy or a log on script to prevent users from adding accounts to their profile. The keys will not remove or disable accounts currently in their profile.
To block the ability to add an Outlook.com MAPI account (Exchange account type) to a profile, use the policy to Prevent personal Microsoft accounts from using MAPI. It’s in Outlook’s Group Policy templates, under under Account Settings, Exchange.
This policy adds the disableexchangeconsumeraccounts data name with a value of 1 to the registry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Policies > Microsoft > office > 16.0 > outlook.
When this policy is set and users attempt to add an Outlook.com account, a message will notify them that it is against policy.
If you are ok with users adding POP or IMAP accounts but want don't want them to add additional Exchange accounts to their profile, there is a policy to prevent adding non-default Exchange accounts to Outlook profiles. This policy sets a key at HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Policies > Microsoft > exchange, DWORD disablemultipleexchange, value of 1.
You can block new IMAP and POP3 accounts by setting a registry value at HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Office > 16.0 > Outlook > Options.
Add DWORDs for DisablePOP3 and DisableIMAP, both set to 1 to disable the ability to add either account type.
These keys will disable the POP and IMAP buttons in the add account wizard, but does not disable the Gmail button in the new simplified add account wizard. Users can attempt to add a Gmail account, but it will fail with a generic error message.

[] Reinstalling the Authenticator App
A user has multifactor authentication enabled on her work account but deleted the authenticator app. She reinstalled the app but it needs to be reauthorized before it will work with the work account.
To reauthorize the app up, you need to scan the QR code, but you need to log into the account to do that.
Fortunately there are other ways to get a code to log in if the authenticator app is not available. Click the link to 'Sign in another way' at the bottom of the Approve sign in request dialog. You can get a code by text message or phone call.
After you are logged in, go into your account at [(. Click Manage security & privacy, then Additional security verification and Update your phone numbers used for account security. Click the button to set up the Authenticator app.
I've been in this position twice in the last few months, In my case, I had to reset my iPhone thanks to bad updates. I use the Google authenticator for some accounts and the Microsoft app for others. I was working on moving all of the accounts into the Microsoft app, but discovered I needed to reconfigure the accounts in the Microsoft app after each reset but not the accounts in the Google app. Now I'm moving some of the accounts back to the Google app.
[] Move Email to Folders
An Outlook user had a problem: “I have over three thousand emails in my inbox as I have not sorted them into my folders for a while. Is there a quick way to select all emails from "joe blogs" and move them all at once into my "joe blogs" folder ?”
Yes, there are ways to do that, that are easier than moving one at a time.
The easiest way is to use Search to find all mail from the address. This works in both Outlook desktop and Outlook on the web.
Type from:alias@domain.com in the search field. You’ll want to link the search to the Inbox only, otherwise it will find the mail that you’ve already filed. Select all using Ctrl+A or select the first message and hold Shift as you select the last. Either drag the messages to the folder or use the Move to folder command.
Hint: if you have a lot of folders, use the Move to folder command. You’re less likely to drop the messages on the wrong folder.
Another option is right click on a message from a sender that needs moved and choose Find related > Messages from sender. Then move, either using drag and drop or the move to folder command.
