[] Office 365 is junking email
Starting last week, Microsoft implemented stricter fraud detection checks in Office 365 and Exchange Online Protection and unauthenticated messages are automatically marked as spam and moved to the Junk Email folder. If an address is on the Safe list, Outlook will leave the message in the Inbox, with this message added: [This sender failed our fraud detection checks and may not be who they appear to be. Learn about spoofing at aka.ms/LearnAboutSpoofing]
Unfortunately, many users think the problem is with their configuration:
I'm using a contact form on my website but even though I have added my domain as a safe sender, the emails are still going to junk folder. I don't know what else to do.
End-users can’t fix this by changing settings in Outlook. The problem is that messages sent from domains that have not published SPF, DKIM, or DMARC records to DNS risk being flagged as spoofed or moved to the Junk Email folder.
The administrator needs to verify the domain has SPF, DKIM, or DMARC records property configured for all servers that send mail from the domain, including website contact forms and mailing list services. I recommend adding SPF records first as they are the easiest to configure and supported by more mail servers.

[] Using @Mentions
A user had an issue with the @Mentions feature in Outlook:
Whenever I type @ in outlook I get a box pop up that tells me they can't find that person. How do I remove that feature?
When you type @ in the message body and begin typing a name, an autocomplete list pops up with matches. After you select the name, if the person is not on the conversation, their address is added to the To field. The @mention is highlighted in in the message body for better visibility.
If you aren’t typing a mention, keep typing and the autocomplete list will disappear once you run out of matches and enter a space. If the dialog won't go away after displaying the message "We couldn't find the person you were looking for.", press ESC to dismiss it.
As much as many users and administrators would like to disable this feature, its not possible at this time. If you are one of these users, I recommend voting for the ability to disable this feature at Uservoice. Vote for a user option at [Provide an option to disable @mention feature in Microsoft Outlook 2016](. Administrators can vote for an administrator option to disable both likes and @Mention at [Allow admins to turn off likes and @mention - PLEASE!](
More information on the feature is available at [Using @Mentions in Outlook 2016](
[] Outlook UserVoice Request: Calendar Details View
Based on the number of requests I've seen for this in recent months, a lot of Outlook 2007 and 2010 users are now being upgraded to Outlook 2016 and they miss the ability to hide some details.
Can you please add the ability to toggle the level of detail in calendar? My monthly Calendar view is so cluttered in Outlook 2016.
If you don’t remember the feature (it was removed from Outlook 2013), you could choose how much detail displayed on the calendar. In Low detail, most appointments were not displayed on the calendar while Medium detail displayed the appointments as lines on the calendar, the width of the line was determined by the length of the appointment. (I have screenshots in [this article]( at Outlook-Tips.)
While the medium details view was useful to see how busy your day was, the biggest issue I had, especially with low details, was that users forgot they were using Low details before asking for help finding the events Outlook "deleted".
While it’s not possible to recreate the Medium details view, you can use custom views to hide events on the calendar to reduce the clutter. For example, you can hide shorter meetings by creating an Advanced filter for “Duration is more than 31 minutes”. Show only events marked Busy, Tentative, or Out of Office by creating a filter to “Show time as not equal to Free”. You can hide past events using “Start on or after Today”. (This will show all recurring events unless you add “Recurring equals No”.) If you use Categories, you can create custom views to show or hide events based on the category.
To vote on the suggestion to bring back the Details view: [Restore the ability to specify Low, Medium, High level of detail in all calendar views (day, week, work week, month)](
[] Outlook 2016 & iCloud
I’m seeing a lot of complaints from users that iCloud is not working with Outlook 2016. When they try to set up iCloud to sync Calendar & Contacts, they receive a message that they need to repair the iCloud installation. In all cases, the user has a new computer and is using the pre-installed Office version. This version is from the Windows store and does not yet support most addins, including iCloud.
The fix: remove the pre-installed store version and install Office from Office.com. Office version 16.0.9027.1000 and higher will uninstall the store apps as part of the installation process or remove the store apps from Settings, Apps & features.
After installing a click-to-run version of Office, you may need to repair the iCloud installation. After rebooting it should work, however, some users receive a message that they don't have a default account set. That issue is being investigated and at this time, the only known solution to is reinstall Windows fixes it. No, its not a good solution but if you need iCloud working "now", it is the only option.

[RestrictExtRecips](
RestrictExtRecips application allows you to limit the number of external recipients a certain group of people can send to. You can create the following rule: if john.doe@yourcompany.com is a member of a group RestrictExternal, he cannot set more than 5 external recipients in his message. If he places 6 or more external addresses his message will not be delivered and he will get a non-delivery report message: "Too many external recipients".
[Priasoft Collaboration Suite](
Priasoft provides a solution for pre-staging objects and synchronizing address book attributes between two or more Exchange environments. The CS (Collaboration Suite) helps with co-existence migration plans. The tools provided allow for the creation of various types of objects as needed such as contacts, mail-enabled users, mailbox-enabled users, linked-mailbox users, and mail-enabled groups.
[Priasoft Public Folder Sync](
Priasoft has created the first, and currently only toolset for synchronizing Public Folders between an on-premises deployment of Public Folders and Office365. This same solution is also able to support cross-forest synchronization between one or more on-premises environments, or between multiple on-premises deployments and Office365.
