[View in browser]( | [Share]() Aug 31, 2023 [Search Engine Land]() Good morning, Search Marketer, Google has finally added links to webpages within the Search Generative Experience (SGE) AI-powered answers. Like you, we’ve been frustrated by Google failing to cite sources – something Bing Chat and other generative AI search engines figured out months ago. So we were happy to see [Google testing links in SGE]() earlier this month. Now, Google has made it official. SGE will show you any relevant webpages that were used to form parts of Google’s answers. But to see those sources, you’ll have to click on a down-arrow icon. Not ideal – but Google said it plans to keep testing various SGE link formats. And you can be sure we’ll report on them as we find them. Links in SGE are now live in the U.S. This will roll out to more countries soon. Check out [our article]() with all the info and to see what it looks like.
