I've got to speak my mind here. Hi {NAME}, I’m sure the news cycle right now is making you feel

I've got to speak my mind here. [Pamela Pugh for Congress]( Hi {NAME}, I’m sure the news cycle right now is making you feel uneasy, anxious, and depressed – I know whenever I turn on my social media apps or news websites, I want to look away almost immediately as a visceral reaction. But as a public health expert, I’ve felt the duty to keep my eyes wide open as famine and now waterborne diseases are on the precipice of making the effects of violence in Gaza even worse for millions of families and children. In particular, this hits home right now in April here in our Congressional District as we approach the 10-year anniversary of the Flint Water Crisis. As I run for Congress, I will continue to use my platform to speak up and speak out for justice on both issues: the Flint Water Crisis and the violence in Gaza. So, after spending several years of my career leading the public health response to the Flint Water Crisis, here’s my call to action to you, {NAME}: [The poisoning of our water was a tragedy here in Flint, Michigan – and it’s a tragedy right now in Gaza. Access to clean water to drink, wash, and bathe is a basic human right. Sign on if you agree, and demand a ceasefire now →]( NOW]( Thanks for standing with me for what is right, – Dr. Pamela Pugh --------------------------------------------------------------- I’m Dr. Pamela Pugh, and I’m a Saginaw native running for Congress in Michigan's 8th District. I've spent my career fighting to improve the lives of Michigan residents through public health initiatives, and as the Chief Public Health Advisor for Flint I played a pivotal role in standing alongside Flint residents during the water crisis. As a public servant, I currently serve as the President of the Michigan State Board of Education, a statewide elected position. I believe in standing up for the people and fighting for our democracy, our children, and our future. I've lived in Michigan's 8th District for my entire life and it will be the honor of a lifetime to represent my community in the House of Representatives. I'm relying on grassroots contributions to fuel my campaign to victory — [so please chip in what you can right now!]( Our email list is an important tool for us to reach Democrats and activists in Michigan and around the country.
