Take action by signing Oxfam’s petition | The Biden Administration's potential reversal on this

Take action by signing Oxfam’s petition | [Oxfam] Friend, Yemenis have seen their country destroyed over the last seven years of civil war. The last thing they need is politicians in Washington making reckless decisions that could make it even more difficult for them to meet their most basic needs. Yet, despite the known implications for Yemen’s economy and people, the Biden administration is considering reinstating a designation of the Houthis as a terrorist organization. [Yemen can’t wait: add your name to Oxfam’s petition calling for the Biden administration to put the lives of Yemeni people first.](113/cssrH04/VWXqnp8-VZ3bW14C1WM7Vqq6dW4bWRWk4FJ77pM9V8jp5nCTJV3Zsc37CgYbmW1s4mjm8_LzXlW6NFrDW1T5-gyW4V3NyK3FG-XPW26cHP36MghkrW4MMXkP6ntGSyW1XlHN64JcVTlW18DMkl5FPW3HW4XWqWX8HwBQGW3HHBd76nRf1HW1w5M6K2fgKWKW7K0zMw1xFp6yN91MfYtlHxhjVKHz-55hQR5bN61MsXq615L_W8bvrD26VdCcFW2jTDVt3sv53nW10YY1T8NFxpXW6L_4qd5s5lXpW7FyB4F8WhQcQW8MYKGF6pBBBRW59G3B811Df2qVMmtXP4CwwGxW7-Q_sz25fhy5N6WM19QR4SwxW6rY8gC1XSSSFW8tDdw87wk7BdW7Sbmwl8j5Sq1W3W4B9888DK_pW2K-4_63MqWqcV_J3J31K9GgyW2Ld_5r2W-9LKW8MfkpF6WHjpG3cp31) [PROTECT LIVES IN YEMEN](113/cssrH04/VWXqnp8-VZ3bW14C1WM7Vqq6dW4bWRWk4FJ77pM9V8kV5nCW9V3Zsc37CgNSMW7CWkNv2G5ZSkW4CcK5c1DhzyNW8LT7Sl8Snk7JW58SxCQ3dzXFhW3XvKBP6CngXfVVkr1C1hbPscW7nmn562zm18_W8W6KVT8Y2nrKN116m-zLQT-2W9h6hVR3VPrHkW88Yvx57X9RSyW37fWbh91VxJDW71kcZz5xW-YVW7v5fNB4-V5rjW3s9R1q7hyyK7W72TsZT1Q6N8-N7jRrNYB1dxMW6Kbqjj1GCv_tW8vHhL174XDw5W6xwTdr77ttkcW63rH4N4SYg7sW5LGxx97H7WZJVGPYZW6wlD_PN7MbmKkGg7-hW5VX-T65-Mh1yW2ytMyP8GyVn8W2TL2nl5DJZszW63wzzQ20KlDhW63NjRT5ZbLKkW46bQ022CDL73W4Vfk1f8C2wKqN2mX2PPRFp1rW5XXT2384wWDcN6bB73_fgTs1W7yhmB310TPycW4bv7DC2_1Fp1W1WDs2v6m_g3YVZbW1Y9l9NKlW6dMcwW77hy9cV6YdD948V_rwW8pR7gz7t_ddJW3m_-WF5g7SVt3m8Q1) [A boy standing next to a man](113/cssrH04/VWXqnp8-VZ3bW14C1WM7Vqq6dW4bWRWk4FJ77pM9V8l95nCWtV3Zsc37CgY5SW4qtLy323ZcygN1hBhwmtzvrbW7X78wF14zDwlN2qRVhtK-7YPW5pcjGF7bf4RjW5FdQMK8fLdbgN1l7cCKJgBT0W7N4kF81HLXkmVm5-JQ7pc-jlW3wSTJq2Q7RyKW19--Ty8ZVcsCW5wKtlJ1rQ5pzW34V7Ty1YlkbjW99RM7X6bJKx8W6VBGPD192JZrV7Nxxx3wsdJLW1YzzLy5lGWx9W1tkJPg7WZq2bW4GTzV-2SqpSCW51W90r4jbV_jW8-XfnN47ycLVW6Cn0gh3dlpDWW460hhc5crQtjW7MBpn-5L3_XjN4bbZqgDTdV5W11DwwF3s1BmZW5m9KNJ24gxhRN89k5-cHRT-hW7z_NkT1g9ZP-W7qFqwR2Vhb76W49G8t52P55fRW6NwxzH8lLWQSW5LKV3T3G-nHVW29ttpJ8kZDc_W6wZl9Z9cprWbW4QSNqF3VPN13W7HFH_22bZKXQW5zGcsD7djlyKV2RVk37bDzjhW621qcV4YdRTpW7vCZst2zLKwHW6pCJqj8cc14_W6nVcQh71m3M-W8lW57X7T0M1m3nfT1) The Biden Administration's potential reversal on this subject would be deeply damaging. Yes, the Houthis have committed horrendous atrocities, just like all sides to the conflict, but designating them as a terrorist group would only compound the suffering of Yemenis and is unlikely to change the actions of the Houthis. Rather than moving ahead with this designation, Oxfam calls for the US to support new, independent accountability mechanisms and a renewed focus on a political settlement to the conflict. [Sign on and demand that the Biden administration protect the lives of Yemenis.](113/cssrH04/VWXqnp8-VZ3bW14C1WM7Vqq6dW4bWRWk4FJ77pM9V8jp5nCTJV3Zsc37CgXccW3tCLXH862K1nW7HJPsF8VSr4bN8LgLXDTXydcW8wxC_02DNFnZW590Nq53Dm5r1V8CBgL7DVwZSW33HPlm8qBdshV-Qvz78r0D0SW8sY8pp5WGYJyVJ9wML2ZzdGmW1DVytF3J5MGZW6srZFS3mPFb8W8S4VWz49hrLCW3pPVsN9bKR02V3jNNc5Ccj_XW7MsxRq6nmhZVW8ZT2lp1FTrk1W398Y_p6xKjtQW5yrSpJ7H3tbDW533v4V8gmwLRW3lqpJG5gXMq1W5XBjld4YN6WqW1CJMq88X89LlW5fCQHg7QynMJW84gFL62648LQW8Rk6l863RNsQW64VNY68_BzcTW8cjPxC7dKs5-W132bkz2VktvqW4t76yw6gRqPBW7Bf_Wj6Y08FhV7vXCG3w9HvS3j7r1) [ADD MY NAME](113/cssrH04/VWXqnp8-VZ3bW14C1WM7Vqq6dW4bWRWk4FJ77pM9V8kV5nCW9V3Zsc37CgJY7W3yHLy_552MJfW86TV183kMRv6W5t7Ml35Wv9BDVzPGJ48jCPNsW1m4BMy2LVX9lV6Y43p40TlC5V8nYM26HpJ8NW1QYjBX2W3dRPW9fk3qC6TfXM2W2lnLkg8MhwzlW9h_1hw5crls8W26y57R3TnVYkN1fM27jQZRWFW622H_C2bVvJqW3QJGxZ4G6KxGW9c2q9x176t41W6PyPgM2DsYRZW5zxPx79l1pcnW4FKGmw4s55WCW2xRsBP7vmrpmW1tbdtD2f3DPWW2t5GQ47THYZ1W49pvYB4rZSxhN1gYc_lNMJKqW552pTm6KrN2yW8kVxlD9jQR0YW6mcXNN5zGW1dW41Td-B70z3DdW5X4G9d7qd4TQVDn1fK4SSgT0W5TbY_V2WzWNTW8bHz5F5hyBd-W2JX4q93wpXQpW7tnb_y2JLlYfW3pFZT94BtjSfW1rBWX08YyxsVW1zqTgp3-XqCVW1xpy8p6Z2z2-W8Mk6PL6-FmF4W5SFX937Rfp9LW5702GH3C64rrVPfNXr88NGrm3ctR1) We’ve already seen what this would mean for innocent Yemenis: When this terrorist designation went into effect last year, we saw dramatic cutbacks in imports of food, medicine, and other vital commodities. And now, as at least five million Yemenis are just one step away from famine, this could condemn them to even more suffering. Friend, Yemen continues to experience one of the world’s most acute humanitarian crises, and this decision has the potential to create even more suffering after years of violent conflict, economic crisis, hunger, and preventable disease. The stakes are incredibly high and we refuse to be silent. [By signing this petition, you’ll join Oxfam, the international humanitarian community, members of Congress, and our global allies in standing with the Yemeni people.](113/cssrH04/VWXqnp8-VZ3bW14C1WM7Vqq6dW4bWRWk4FJ77pM9V8jp5nCTJV3Zsc37CgCkxW2VhFpg23JZSsW7GRcYv7j-1TMV10l602bLvKvW1vZ3cY3THg9NW7HM0H59g1Z-0W55kNcr3d9NySW4-YBY64STp8kW23jVx999jQZsW2Dt93W7frpb6W16wQjn6_tgYqW1PC6Nh2jZKZzW24MkRz1tBSDrW7CcdhJ5xWJHhN1DRtj-QKtsCW2zcQtm1sg8XcN7QW4gztHLqjN41tPC2VK8S7W4Djp934nMDtbW3nPXKS80QtkZW5tXHxS3l5H-qVxpmnf1hBS5sW3xjVL52bGd2kW6vfgPW8W8bDcW5bXXym6N2pSzW3pmv768F1CPCVKM8T71_yzqHMh_-QDsKg13W4pG-nh2BFs-HN3-NHkVwswxVW2kGCHP5QCmddW5VfdPJ7zrMhqN71Q8n3CZsP92w-1) [ADD MY NAME](113/cssrH04/VWXqnp8-VZ3bW14C1WM7Vqq6dW4bWRWk4FJ77pM9V8jp5nCTJV3Zsc37CgRm5W4Q__Bl28LnhsW2zRzSr91qJZzW361Hn-3RYKjTW2L272X2XC0TmVXygx54-_9fxW29QryB6YhnmwW6xpXcv75wv1dW13Tb032hDDx6W5BVfCH6FqfgPW3W5xW65D3TCrN1TsPd8P3hyJW5rhNH72S8B2vN2hJZK97jgH5W88Y7Xy3GVxNFVkDNkg8RgBG2W1w64_J4l1WJcW8rDvHc1hmFmfW8cMlq_9jxCsmW6-Plbb1MP_GgW7Jh-Bq77HVjNW13p6L92r2PQ6W5gGjjR60xnLdW97vmtB6JNzGvN3HBV7pMQspkW2V8YC695gq4vN1VFtDM4j24YW5s6XRk8PCSqwN7b-B0mcSVgYW4tFXKR7KfHH5W3zkwkC6R8zx-W440dwn2BS2RWW1dsx_p78nmm63njl1) Thank you for all you do, Gina Cummings Vice President of Advocacy, Alliances, and Policy Oxfam America Action Fund P.S.
