Urgent Action needed to save lives in Yemen | [Oxfam] Friend, We recently learned that the Biden administration is considering reinstating a designation of the Houthis in Yemen as a terrorist organization. Unfortunately, we’ve seen how this plays out – and it’s deadly for Yemenis. [This decision would cause an economic collapse in a country already experiencing a devastating humanitarian crisis. Oxfam is speaking out to save lives in Yemen – and your voice is key right now to influence the Biden administration.](113/cssrH04/MWSSrfbXjqPW4BNt0m7LF5fQW6P_DFt4FnxP7N1-yX-N9kJVmV7Wycr7CgV7XW1_zHFZ7wPCvcW6QwC1v7GRS49W1tR6wZ6RnbM6W8kSfGv2Dx5K6W8yH5421xGfh6Mr3cN3Tbnc3W7flsNZ5CJW_5VLZhP_2ThNJNW5_4T1r3JshMFW5HN85M4rK9jxN2TcK0jsg_nQW3HzpTp99FKzjW2-1Xw691sZJ8W6XtP2Q23v98ZW1DRktj2YxhcWW421zDj4FRkZqW6G9GJq8f12g3W6JVsv-4CWZy9W4mvcrF5Wn2MYW7NMWLw7-0tJlW1ygk1y17KfhHW1XsgDq8sXJmBW40DYSb4JdtwkW8CSQDj6R8Ly5N9gh8mSWKHv-W53kTMF6k41KpW1JWzs-81Bww-W7rhGPF4TN2mhVgtmwC40NNWGW3m3gtz5jvZGPW10LFqK2vcW9wW5lMkS98L8Q1NN3-N0cdNqFsTW4bsZp85RLd02W8pXD3L26BnRzW4pG9Vj82YYZgW56X7HS4_fJfwW1GZ9_q2HrhJrW8s3qpv6yPfKCW8K8Rys1BrGS2W3rPqsq8mycgjW1YH2xY6dWJ9ZW44k83w7hH4CTW1N6F1c1mrl7DW5lD3gh1jlJtsW3fntkT1Pc5DTW5skptP1tjTCwW5g2WjZ1zdX87W7VwGYd1yNvYXW5-X6dK8g-GvpW7nTq5r1_5DWDW5p79rG1dwYcJW6gdtYl7DwhLbVMC_Ln5V-NZ-W2_hWfS5hPNngW8kBvPf46vFRHN5BF8d6K5b5_W99_Q-j3v_4QmW58Nrn_2VCv_fW5kznYt7mll4tW1mznXK4TVJb8W9jyMyl22Zn8bW4_NLBf4X66-HW1RpQTY3RC4vLN8P-RfvqWMJYW1vqtnf3-vtG036GM1) [PROTECT LIVES IN YEMEN](113/cssrH04/MWSSrfbXjqPW4BNt0m7LF5fQW6P_DFt4FnxP7N1-yX_G9kJWfV7Wycr7CgZwYN3-1PnRKKj9hW1nxb176lrmY-W6QzQKZ1GHzYKW5xyjJ92QPSBWW3PQ-hS51S6mvW7qjQ1-4WksCDW9lLmqc48hFZLW38xbYn3LLLlGW1n8VJb8ckwSJW2STVx-2p-kXXW1hCxNG87hNYyW7y910f2h3rSqW6nJxqX4yqGZkW5zGxZK3mwpFnW2dj9M44VVw5_W6j90nl5hB3BsVCMFRV4cX_4bW5s-XRx2RSTM7W4pVfgG3kNtJGVbFs4689fScHW8xv9Cs3X3WD4W4BVtxB6WjqBQW2Md5yS1lS6SGW69zDbF53GC3FN75GmJcV0j7MW1BSb1k5yKLb5W6BRbk83kC0M7W4Bt6pN6S7dL2Vql3Jn1n2LcPW4k3m4D9f9dwHW2pWqVQ8_RTsrW3zm3d640JKztW5HX5ht115RyWW82gCtJ6yG4M9W70bG1J4q6xPbW5nr4ZL21xbXCW2pp-NV5F5gQHW57Cp_P7BwbdbW3L5N9L1KRSgrW83T98d8XB-VLW58vK7Q4X9MPqW5rSrwv47LHQ1W1tS7Mc83hDqQW2SQQDv1Rv-dtW8stXK94qm9ffW2q19cX5VBr_xW8SMNC1681k6TW3f914_5qM2SCW84dhk78MJQ38W6mrwVx9fcbVMW241gSf1vRCQmN42QD7B55ZM5W6D7-2M6TfK16W1fjXNY4-w9lcW7s7ggc2j__CxW4MvB_b5-zfb1W54fCGk3QK7VrW4Ft5Rq1KSl7LW5-YT5k3lv0WFW32lXwW8s6bF2N5CDvcSRMRddW4jWcLn8pYKjBW47XD-Y4D8VQRVk8hSY2mF7dKW8bLgbp22R5dKW5VcpJf4WtHQWW4wKphQ4CM3clW5B8PT72n1zW6W1XCnB73-YHxdW8DfnQ-1gQfL9VbwpHc1mlWwVW1lK5_z80pN1z32Xw1) [Salem* and his family had to live in caves and drink pond water when they were first displaced. After an outcry last year from Oxfam supporters and partners, Secretary of State Antony Blinken halted the Trump administration’s designation of the Houthis as a terrorist organization, citing the impact it had on Yemeni communities. Your voice made a difference and that’s why we need you to take action again today. Right now, violence is escalating across Yemen, with more airstrikes in populated areas, and the cost of fuel has nearly tripled recently – pushing the cost of transportation and the prices of other essential goods and services like food, water, and medicine out of reach. People are living in fear – of violence, hunger, and preventable disease. [At least five million people are just one step away from famine in Yemen.](113/cssrH04/MWSSrfbXjqPW4BNt0m7LF5fQW6P_DFt4FnxP7N1-yX-N9kJVmV7Wycr7CgWrQW94hXDB1tD6jlW2KT4RM1dP_YMW7XFRzH5kr1QRVfLlfY8JCbVxN5-8tCcqzR3nN8dnNTcHpfSpW6rCG3R61BbmLW3qcjtX93VbF-N82XJBWmkFdXW7nsblF7CTqrZW1c-x1L5-yQpSW5dkqdt3BMn2NW4wJwT21b9z3QW4tJPrJ1nG8SFW25nNzH37_MT5W8Z_8QR61x69jVGPFcq3VKpJwW6xYphB3MFMg7VyCBH87Pm_zRW7W3Sd16KRq0fW7KBDSK5LD2ySW1QhH8W3TPcVKW66HhFd1B9sgQVrbTLn4MwQmRW7KhPWC4fk2FWW4NmvYY2JVDn-W41JLdF2z-BtKW7fZlbB7ptDswW6-6rWH1KXt8CVJKK9T6HGQscN21qMhqpmdF-N39v4MVSfn76V8kl6K1mJKLDW3ZbY7n6Dz85hW6rNH8N8BPG2yW3kRwh018v_0VN2H-kHzh9qjrW9gcDnk6khwlYW7BXMy89hh2XDW1vzQ_01JfZXnW3z3y_l68tPB0Vfcx362_QcwKW5vJY-L2Nj3fdW3kKSVM5vjC9LV8wPZw36Z3j8W92lT8r8SKnTbN7Z5Nz1k0Jn0W39FYNp4Y1N0vW8m6Dpy6ZHN8tW5yW3p13yYXW1W22WDsr1fjfCLW8y_-sF5RMSPLW3mH2t_3CM-jXN2jC-vzpsXyJW5wkwfB95G_C-W68ZyRj809W82W8m3qTJ6PxDk-W6sByll7my28nF2-KHb9DBqGW7jQf4X3mFt2PW1-MN1m77fk4MW6DV4y17GgNMWVfPXbX604n9GW10f3Nj4ThHGfW6jwjMQ2JSK47W8_WSPp1fbWhD33Pz1) The Houthis have committed horrendous atrocities, just like the Saudi-led coalition and other armed groups. But designating them as a terrorist group would only compound the suffering of Yemenis and is unlikely to influence their actions. When these designations went into effect last year, we saw dramatic cutbacks in imports of food, medicine, and other vital commodities. These dire consequences could materialize again but we can’t let that happen. Rather than moving ahead with the designation, Oxfam calls for the US to support new, independent accountability mechanisms and a renewed focus on a political settlement to the conflict. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
