With our looming debt ceiling crisis, Democrats in Congress have worked tirelessly to fund vital government programs and ensure the U.S. does not default on its obligations. While we honor the lives of those we've lost, our commitment to supporting our veterans is among the most important obligations we have as Americans. Yet we've seen radical bills from the GOP, like The Default on America Act, that would lead to 30 million veterans losing critical care and eliminate 81,000 jobs in the Veterans Health Administration. It's shameful that we'd even consider stripping vital benefits from our veterans whom we owe so much. From health care and housing to job training and financial support, there is so much more we must do. So, {NAME}, this Memorial Day, while the GOP continues to obstruct and play politics with the lives of our veterans, I'm renewing our commitment to helping those who have protected and served.
