I’m proud to support the reintroduction of the Momnibus Act to fight for better care for our mothers. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ [Nikema for Congress]( {NAME}, this month, I wanted to do more than just celebrate the women who hold our families together. I wanted to take action. That’s why, on this day after Mother’s Day, I’m so proud to support the reintroduction of the Momnibus Act – a piece of legislation dedicated to making sure women, especially Black women, have the access they need to high-quality, affordable pre- and post-natal health care. Motherhood should be something women look forward to, {NAME}, but for many, including myself, the idea of carrying a pregnancy to full term is terrifying. When I was pregnant with my beautiful son, I couldn’t ignore the countless harrowing statistics associated with mortality rates – something that disproportionately affects Black women. [As leaders in Congress, we must do everything we can to protect our mothers and give them the care they deserve so they can celebrate these milestones in their lives. But we’re up against a GOP-led House, who would rather cut funding for our mothers in need than uplift them during this critical moment. Will you join me today with a gift of $5 so we can ensure vital pieces of legislation, like the Momnibus Act, don’t get squashed by the GOP?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [$1 »]( [$5 »]( [$10 »]( [$25 »]( [$50 »]( [OTHER »]( {NAME}, we're facing a moment in time where our leaders are attacking women’s health care without blinking an eye. We cannot let this continue without putting up a fight. This Momnibus Act would help deliver life-saving care to Black mothers through: - Growing and diversifying the perinatal workforce, - Funding community-based organizations that are doing the work on the ground to improve maternal health outcomes, - Making critical investments in social determinants of health, like housing, transportation, and nutrition, that influence maternal health outcomes, - And so much more. [This is something that’s personal for me, {NAME}, and I hope you’ll join me in making sure the GOP knows just how personal it is to you, too. So can I count on you to chip in $5 or whatever you can afford today to ensure Black women in America receive the care and attention they need in one of the most critical times of their lives?]( Thank you for your continued support, Nikema Williams As the proud Congresswoman for Georgia’s Fighting Fifth, the cradle of the Civil Rights movement, Nikema Williams has always been a fearless advocate for working families, Reproductive Freedom, Voting Rights, and closing the racial wealth gap. With the GOP threatening our rights and cutting funding from Social Security, Medicare, and so much more, we need advocates like Nikema in office now more than ever. Will you help keep Nikema in Congress fighting for the policies that matter to working people across Georgia and help stave off the GOP's attack on our rights by donating whatever you can afford today?
