Learn all about NextChapter's latest enhancements and features. [View this email in your browser]( Webinars 🖥 Our team focuses on constructing webinars based on frequently asked questions and comments from our users. With that in mind, here is our current line-up of free webinars for the month of May: - Weds, May 4, at 11:00 AM EDT: [Tips for a Seamless Transition to NextChapter](. Learning a new system can sometimes be challenging. We hope to provide a strong foundation for your future success in case preparation and filing through the NextChapter program. You can see from our [Competitor Comparison]( page plenty of reasons to transition from Best Case to NextChapter, however; it’s useful to hear from someone who has been in your position before. This prompted us to recruit one of our avid users, John, to co-host our webinar. We will get to draw from John’s first-hand experience transitioning to NextChapter. [Click here]( to register. - Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 11:00 AM EDT: [Meet the Customer Success Team: Behind the Scenes](. [Click here]( to register. We look forward to seeing you there! NextChapter Updates 🎉✨ While bankruptcy cases remain low, let us help you with your cases in other areas of law! NextChapter is proud to offer Paralegal as a Service which has a lot more to offer than just helping with bankruptcy cases. In addition to helping with bankruptcy, our paralegals have expertise in over 40 different practice areas. For more information on Paralegal as a Service, click [here](. Filing Trends: Nationwide bankruptcy cases across all chapters rose 34% in March over the previous month, according to data from [Epiq](. Historically, March sees more filings with consumers receiving tax refunds making filing a feasible option, and this March there were more subchapter V filings from small businesses taking advantage of the added protection in the CARES act before it expired at the end of the month. Another trend to track in relation to filings is the mortgage delinquency and foreclosure rates. Even with many foreclosure moratoriums ending in December 2021, the national foreclosure rate remained flat from December to January 2022. According to [MarketWatch]( the delinquency rate rose in February for the first time in months as homeowners are resuming payments. Exemption Updates - Federal - California - Colorado - Ohio Chapter 13 Plan Updates - Florida Southern - West Virginia Northern Local Form Updates - Louisiana Western: Revised Bankruptcy Rule 2016(b) Disclosure and Application for Approval of Fixed Fee Agreement Customer Highlight 💁🏻‍♀️ Morley Diment founded his firm, Diment & Associates, in 2017 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His firm focuses on Bankruptcy as well as Asset and Debt Resolution, and Taxation. While the firm consists of only 7 staff members, it consistently files about 200 bankruptcy cases per year! Diment & Associates relies on NextChapter’s features to assist in his numerous case filings. The firm most appreciates the [Client Portal]( as it assists in collecting intake information. Not only does the portal expedite the onboarding process for new clients, but it also reduces the amount of travel required by their clients. Their team also thrives under NextChapter’s cloud-based system. Now, all staff members can collaborate and work together while working in separate locations. Morley was inspired to become a bankruptcy attorney to simply help people. Practicing bankruptcy allows him to help “families keep a roof over their head and food on their table”. When he is not practicing law, he enjoys vacationing with his wife and 3 kids. We are so happy to have Morley and his staff on the NextChapter team! NACBA 🔥 The [NextChapter]( team is proud to represent our software product at NACBA ‘22! We have evolved so much since we last saw you in person in 2019. We now have a [Document Automation]( tool, a [Virtual Paralegal network]( and are in the early stages of branching into form prep for new practice areas. We would love to showcase these features and products in person so make sure to stop by booth 38! We’ll have fresh pour-over coffee and treats on hand, and will host a daily giveaway that includes an [Ember Mug]( and a [JBL Portable Speaker](. Our team is also helping to kick off Day 1 by hosting a session on [Thursday at 4 pm MDT](. Make sure to stop by to learn more about how our new Document Automation tool is partnering with [SALI LMSS]( as we work to standardize legal terminology and forms automation. See you there!
