Yes, I admit it; I am a Very Impatient Person. I have been there, done that and still love Disney, but – I don’t want to stand in line for a ride or sit on the curb guarding my spot for the 3 o’clock parade. I arranged a 7-hour Private Premium Disney VIP Tour for our party of 10 including six adults and four children aged 2 to 6 years old. Our VIP Tour Guide picked us up at our resort and drove us to a backstage area at the Magic Kingdom. After scanning our Magic Bands for our theme park passes, we entered through a “secret door” and were on our way to Belle’s Enchanted Tales. We leisurely rode all the Fantasyland FastPass+ attractions and experienced Character Meet and Greets with minimal waits. Our Guide led the way, pushing and parking strollers, entertaining the kids, enlightening the adults and arranging lunch. The convenience and stress-free touring was priceless. We even made a quick trip to Epcot, entered Soarin’ from backstage, rode Frozen Ever After and then headed back to the Magic Kingdom. The highlight of our day was a prime viewing location for Festival of Fantasy Parade from the Main Street U.S.A. Train Station. It seemed like every character was waving to our kids. What a magical moment! Usually when we go to Walt Disney World, I am the designated Tour Guide. This time, I was so happy that no one asked me, “Where do we go next?” I was flying itinerary-free; no need to try and snag hard-to-get FastPasses 60 days in advance or check wait times and entertainment schedules. Our entire family was engaged and immersed in the magic. The VIP Tour Guide seemed to read our minds to customize our day and make our wishes come true. We even rode a few rides twice in a row. This was the ultimate pixie-dusted Disney experience. I felt like a kid again! That might seem pricey, but if you break it down, the cost of our tour came out to $45.00 per person per hour. There are 42″ HDTVs in the master bedroom and living room; a smaller HDTV is in the bunk bed alcove. All 2-bedroom suites sleep up to 6 people. The 1-bedroom suites are 475 sq ft, and do not have the bunk bed alcove room. There is a master bedroom with a King size bed, and a fully equipped kitchen with a small two-burner stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, cookware, dishware and cutlery. The kitchen is open to the dining and living room area. One-bedroom suites have a pull-out queen sized sofa in the living room area, and sleep up to 4 people. The 3-bedroom suites are the largest at 950 sq ft, and are a combination of a 1-bedroom and a 2-bedroom suite. These suites sleep up to 8 people. All suites include high speed Wi-Fi, 42-inch HDTVs with premium cable channels, Bath & Body Works toiletries, mini-fridge/refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, hair dryer and iron and ironing board. All suites also have numerous plug-in outlets, sleeper sofas, a dining area and work desk. While the 1- and 2-bedroom suites don’t feel overly large, they are very comfortable and efficient, and we believe the room rates are excellent for what you get. Having a rental car is a good idea when staying at Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites – Waterpark. The resort does have scheduled shuttle service to the parks, but if you want to eat outside the resort or need to run an errand, you will want a car. The resort is not within walking distance of restaurants or shopping off of the resort grounds. We found that the overall experience at this property, with its apartment-like suites, waterpark, separate pool options and a variety of food and entertainment options — as well as its terrific location close to the Walt Disney World theme parks, make it an excellent choice for families looking to make the most out of their “fun” budget.
