A vandal burned an antisemitic sign in what police are calling a hate crime. This attack, like all antisemitism, was unacceptable. We have a problem with antisemitism in America, and it seems to be growing. Most notably, Kanye West was rightfully shunned by sponsors after making antisemitic comments. Now, we have this attack in Chico and the FBI has arrested a suspect for making threats against a synagogue in New Jersey. The North State has a troubled history of antisemitism as well. The 1999 firebombing of Temple B'Nai Israel in Sacramento was perpetrated by two white supremacists from the Redding area.
