The modern GOP is morally sick Hi {NAME}, It's been a few days since the attack on Paul Pelosi at his home in San Francisco. The attack was bad enough, but it's the despicable response of Republican elites that I'm going to mention today, I'm sick of seeing right-wing politicians make jokes out of an attempted political assassination. It seems like every Republican candidate from governor to senator is trying to score points with the Republican base by mocking an 82-year old crime victim -- or by spreading slanderous lies about him. It's unbelievable. The modern GOP is morally sick -- from top to bottom, from leadership to base. There's not much else to say. I used to vote GOP occasionally (yep, I was that rare split-ticket voter), but I don't recognize any of the values that GOP candidates claimed to have as recently as 10 years ago. Maybe they were always lying. Maybe they've just been intimidated. Or maybe they've just been pushed out of party leadership because they refused to go "Full Trump" ([Pence, for all his faults, reacted to the Pelosi attack responsibly](.) I don't know why the GOP has fallen so deeply into conspiracy theories and cruelty. Honestly, I don't know how to fix it either. But I know we cannot allow a party that makes a political attack into a campaign joke to take power. November is important. Your vote is important. Your neighbors' votes are important. Just a reminder, if you have a few extra minutes today, hop on an auto-dialer to call Democratic voters and remind them to vote!
