Another winery-direct steal from a Central Coast benchmark... Wednesday May 31st, 2023 [View in Browser]( [KL-emailheader.gif]( Pioneering Single-Vineyard Chardonnay at 50% Off [2019 Talley "Rincon Vineyard" Arroyo Grande Chardonnay (Elsewhere $60)]( ($29.95) "It has been a no-brainer to count Talley as one of the New World’s top producers of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay for years now." — Josh Raynolds, Vinous --------------------------------------------------------------- Continuing our run of unbeatable Insider's bargains from a Central Coast benchmark estate, the 2019 Talley Rincon Vineyard Chardonnay comes in at a winery-direct, 50%-off price that makes it one of the best deals available in boutique California Chardonnay. This is a broad, expansive expression of the estate's oldest and warmest vineyard, a scintillating combination of luxurious fruit and subtle balance showcasing the world-class quality that defines this pioneering property. --------------------------------------------------------------- [Rincon Vineyard] --------------------------------------------------------------- [2019 Talley "Rincon Vineyard" Arroyo Grande Chardonnay (Elsewhere $60)]( Talley "Rincon Vineyard" Arroyo Grande Chardonnay (Elsewhere $60)]( ($29.95) 94 points Vinous: "Pale gold. Powerful aromas of pear nectar, white peach and jasmine, along with suggestions of vanilla, fennel and smoky minerals. Fleshy and seamless in texture, offering juicy orchard and pit fruit, chamomile and candied ginger flavors and a hint of smokiness. Finishes chewy, focused and extremely long, with repeating floral and pear notes and a bracing suggestion of bitter lemon pith. (JR)" (04/2022) 93 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Also gorgeous, the 2019 Chardonnay Rincon Vineyard, which spent 16 months in 28% new barrels, offers a pretty, medium-bodied, slightly more supple and rounded style while still bringing bright acidity. Pineapple, white peach, honeysuckle, and some obvious rocky, earthy minerality all define the nose, and it too will benefit from a year in bottle." (09/2021) Woodhouse]( | K&L Domestic Buyer | Review Date: May 30, 2023 As many of you will know by now, Talley is one of my all-time favorite producers of California Chardonnay. Winemaker Erik Johnson is a supremely talented guy who has the magic touch with this varietal. I also believe that the Rincon Vineyard is the jewel in the crown of Talley's estate holdings. This hillside parcel was planted back in 1982, and these now-40-year-old vines produce phenomenally expressive fruit. I actually had a chance to make wine with this fruit first-hand back in 2010 while working in the cellar at Testarossa. I've long had an affinity for this special site, and the wines from here also age beautifully. The 2019 Rincon Chardonnay from Talley is simply stunning. It is a truly complete wine that has so much to offer. On the nose subtle honeysuckle, white blossom, struck flint, poached pear, and shaved almonds. The palate combines golden orchard fruit like quince paste, apricot, and some more tangy elements reminiscent of preserved lemon. There are also lovely savory elements of crushed rock, toasted nuts, and warm buttered bread with fleur de sel. It has lovely concentration on the palate, weighty texture, and fine, persistent, focused acidity. The oak is very subtle and beautifully integrated. Absolutely top-notch Chardonnay. During the worst of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021, Talley closed up their tasting room and lost many placements as local restaurants closed down. As long-term partners with Talley, we've worked with them on this winery-direct deal to bring you this highly acclaimed and delicious Chardonnay at a stunningly reasonable price point, some 50% lower than the original SRP. If you enjoy a more restrained, balanced style of California Chardonnay or white Burgundy, this is a exceptional deal not to be missed. --------------------------------------------------------------- [New Feed]( [Auction]( [Local]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [On the Trail (K&L Blog)]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [Instagram]( [Instagram]( [Facebook]( [Twitter]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [BORDEAUX]( | [NAPA]( | [BURGUNDY]( | [CHAMPAGNE]( | [ITALY]( | [RHÔNE]( | [SPIRITS]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [My Account]( | [Wine Clubs]( | [Events]( |[Gift Cards]( | [Accessories]( | [Delivery]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Missed an offer?
