Benchmark pedigree from a historic estate... Tuesday May 9th, 2023 [View in Browser]( [KL-emailheader.gif]( Rare Reload Chance on an Ultra-Classic Napa Vintage [2016 Beaulieu Vineyard "Tapestry Reserve" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (Elsewhere $60)]( ($39.99) "BV's Tapestry Reserve is one of the best deals in modern day Napa." — Ryan Woodhouse, K&L Domestic Buyer --------------------------------------------------------------- Beaulieu Vineyard needs no introduction to fans of Napa, and in a vintage as classically styled as 2016, it’s no surprise that they’ve hit bullseye after bullseye. The 2016 Beaulieu Vineyard "Tapestry Reserve", sourced from top-quality sites in Rutherford, Atlas Peak, and Stags Leap, is a shining expression of the quality and class that make the flagship Georges de Latour such a coveted, blue-chip collectible. In 2016, that character is abundant and then some. The best selections from Napa's epic 2016 vintage are rapidly disappearing from the market, so avid fans should take full advantage of this rare re-stock while they can. --------------------------------------------------------------- [B.V. Ranch Vineyard] --------------------------------------------------------------- [2016 Beaulieu Vineyard "Tapestry Reserve" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (Elsewhere $65+)]( Beaulieu Vineyard "Tapestry Reserve" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (Elsewhere $60)]( ($39.99) 93 points James Suckling: "A tight and deep wine with a beautiful center palate of currants, berries, and silky tannins. Rich and opulent, yet fresh. Lightly chewy with a caressing texture." (02/2020) Woodhouse]( | K&L Domestic Buyer | Review Date: May 8, 2023 We offered this wine back in November 2021. At that time I wrote: "BV's 2016 Tapestry Reserve is one of the best deals in modern-day Napa." Fast-forward to May 2023, as many of you will have noticed, not much has gotten cheaper since then! In fact, what was a great deal back then is even more scarce today. When the winery found a final parcel of the 2016 vintage in one of their warehouses, we jumped on it and took every case. Sourced from exceptional vineyards throughout Rutherford and beyond, this wine brings you BV's pedigree and excellence for a super-competitive $60 price point. When you take another $20 per bottle off that with our best-in-market price, this is an absolute steal. A true Bordeaux-style blend, driven by Rutherford Bench-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by smaller lots of Merlot, Cab Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot from Stags Leap, Coombsville, Atlas Peak, and St. Helena. As the winery writes, "The 2016 Tapestry is a powerful expression of the dream vintage." This has a bit of everything; deep dusty red to black fruits—plum, cassis, and redcurrant. Brooding, loamy earth tones, dry tobacco, cigar box, and leather. Full-bodied and richly fruited, but not jammy or confected, very classic in style, paying homage to its Bordeaux roots with the perfect Napa Valley amplification of the fruit profile. This beautifully layered, balanced, and complete wine really shows the benefits of artfully blending Cabernet Sauvignon with its traditional companions. Wines like this from the exceptional 2016 vintage are just hitting their stride with five years of age already under their belt, and will continue to provide prime drinking for another 10-15 years, likely more. This is a wonderfully crafted Napa Valley Cab blend that beautifully illustrates the quality of the vintage and the expertise of the winemaking team for a surprisingly modest price point. --------------------------------------------------------------- [New Feed]( [Auction]( [Local]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [On the Trail (K&L Blog)]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [Instagram]( [Instagram]( [Facebook]( [Twitter]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [BORDEAUX]( | [NAPA]( | [BURGUNDY]( | [CHAMPAGNE]( | [ITALY]( | [RHÔNE]( | [SPIRITS]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [My Account]( | [Wine Clubs]( | [Events]( |[Gift Cards]( | [Accessories]( | [Delivery]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Missed an offer?
