Best-in-market Insider’s Pricing… Friday Aug 5th, 2022 [View in Browser]( [KL-emailheader.gif]( WA96: Cult-Caliber 2018 Napa Cab at 50% Off [2018 Beau Vigne "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (Previously $200)]( ($99.95) “Wow! This wine is a monster bottle of Cabernet … there are plenty of $500 bottles of Napa Cab that don't measure up to this.” — Ryan Woodhouse, K&L Domestic Buyer --------------------------------------------------------------- This screaming deal on a cult-caliber Napa Cabernet is one of the best we’ll see all year in the luxury category. Beau Vigne’s Reserve bottling absolutely sings in the ultra-classic 2018 Napa vintage. This prime terroir in Atlas Peak has produced a profound Cabernet with a profile that can stand up the valley’s top blue-chip bottlings. After all, with cult talent Julien Fayard at the helm, it’s no surprise that the 2018 “has all the makings of a great modern Napa Cabernet'' according to K&L domestic buyer Ryan Woodhouse. For those unfamiliar, after formative years spent at Bordeaux icons Lafite-Rothschild and Smith Haut Lafitte, Fayard cut his teeth in Napa as Philippe Melka’s director of winemaking and is currently winemaker at many top addresses (Purleiu, Le Pich, and Covert Estate to name a few). This WA96 powerhouse is “seriously packed with immensely concentrated fruit” and shows “super firm, super ripe tannins and bold freshness, finishing with fantastic length.” If that sounds like a cult-collectible blue chip to you, you’d certainly be correct, but it’s available at a market-best price that’s far less than what you’d normally pay for such pedigree. Savvy Napa aficionados will see this as a can’t-miss best buy and load up while our limited supply lasts. [Beau Vigne Estate on Atlas Peak] --------------------------------------------------------------- [2018 Beau Vigne "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (Previously $200)]( Beau Vigne "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (Previously $200)]( ($99.95) 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple in color, it needs a fair amount of swirling to unlock notes of crème de cassis, boysenberries and Morello cherries, plus hints of Indian spices, fragrant earth, truffles and crushed rocks. The medium to full-bodied palate is very tightly wound with layers of savory, earth and black fruits notes, framed by super firm, super ripe tannins and bold freshness, finishing with fantastic length. (LPB)" (11/2021) Woodhouse]( | K&L Domestic Buyer | Review Date: August 02, 2022 Wow! This wine is a monster bottle of Cabernet. Right from the get-go this is seriously packed with immensely concentrated fruit. But this is no simple fruit bomb—it also has huge, brooding structure and lots of savory nuances packed in for good measure. Fresh blackcurrant soars from the glass, followed by mulberry reduction, graphite, crushed rock, cigar box, toasted cedar, and exotic oak spice. The volume of fruit is well contained with some serious tannins, gravelly mineral tones, and nicely applied oak. I think this has all the makings of a great modern Napa Cabernet. I like the fact that it has a little more structure and robust tannin than I typically see these days, because it complements the explosiveness and sheer power of the fruit. With Julien Fayard now behind this project, his winemaking prowess is on full display here. For fans of that unmistakable, bold, powerful, muscular Napa Cab style, this is right on the money. At 50% off the release price and with 96-points from Wine Advocate, there are plenty of $500 bottles of Napa Cab that don't measure up to this. --------------------------------------------------------------- [New Feed]( [Auction]( [Local]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [On the Trail (K&L Blog)]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [Instagram]( [Instagram]( [Facebook]( [Twitter]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [BORDEAUX]( | [NAPA]( | [BURGUNDY]( | [CHAMPAGNE]( | [ITALY]( | [RHÔNE]( | [SPIRITS]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [My Account]( | [Wine Clubs]( | [Events]( |[Gift Cards]( | [Accessories]( | [Delivery]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Missed an offer?
