Our Newest Acquisitions and Returning Favorites, All In One Place... Tuesday Jul 26th, 2022 [View in Browser]( [KL-emailheader.gif]( Whether it is a new allocation or an old favorite, below you will find our most recent additions to the diverse selection at K&L Wine Merchants. We receive new opportunities weekly, from direct imports to local distributors to carefully inspected back-vintage collections—read on for the best of this week's discoveries. Here is a look at our full list of [New Arrivals](. Here is our full list of items that are [Back in Stock](. Here you can browse [all our recent additions on the website](. [Couvreur] --------------------------------------------------------------- Sauvignon Blanc is the ultimate summer varietal among both our staff and our customers, and we've got a surefire best bet for the category. Just arrived in stock is the newest rendition of our private-label, perennial value champion, the [2021 Kalinda Dry Creek Valley Sauvignon Blanc]( made by one of Dry Creek Valley's premier estates whose own label trades for at least double this sub-$15 price. This bright and beautiful expression is redolent with tropical fruit (think banana, guava, and passionfruit) and herbal undertones, while a honeyed richness sits alongside vibrant acidity for an impeccably balanced texture. If you're looking for a go-to house white for any time of year (but especially now, of course), the savvy move is back up the truck and stack this lovely, secret-source stunner by the case. We've also just secured a new parcel of a can't-miss, library Bordeaux at incredibly competitive pricing. Two Thousand Five is now known far and wide as a Bordeaux legendary vintage, and the [2005 Malescot-St-Exupéry Margaux]( is one of its standout stars. Third growth Malescot, situated on prized, gravel-laden terroir in the heart of the Left Bank, not only excels in the great Bordeaux vintages but “has been on a superb qualitative roll for several decades,” according to Robert Parker. In fact, on release winemaker Jean-Luc Zuger called the 2005 “the best since 1961,” while Wine Spectator slotted it at #18 on the Top 100 Wines of 2008. Aged Margaux is often the most ethereal Bordeaux, with effortless balance, succulent fruit, and the silkiest of textures that many wine enthusiasts never get the chance to experience. These 2005s are becoming rarer by the day, so make sure there is room in your cellar for this sublime collectible. Back in stock is one of our best-selling K&L favorites over the years, the [Michel Couvreur "Peaty Overaged" K&L Exclusive Malt Whisky](. What’s truly remarkable is where this inimitable dram comes from—a deep, dark cellar in the heart of Burgundy. The late Michel Couvreur arrived here in the 1960s and set about acquiring impressive stocks of new-make, single-malt Scotch and cultivating one of the most well-sourced sherry-cask regimens in the whisky world. Now produced by his long-time apprentice, this peated K&L Exclusive is, as spirits buyer David Othenin-Girard describes, a “wildly high-quality...whisky with a French sensibility.” For any lover of incredibly expressive sherry-cask whisky, this is a must-try bottling that will leave you stunned, thrilled, and totally addicted to the Couvreur style. For the most avid collectors, we also have a small allocation of the [Michel Couvreur "Blossoming Auld Sherried" K&L Exclusive Malt Whisky]( a singular expression of sherried malt without compare. Aged in a vessel from a solera begun in the 1950s at the legendary Bodega Toro Albala, it is the ultimate sherry essence married to the finest quality malt and older than everything in the Couvreur line-up except the extraordinary vintage bottlings. There is simply nothing else like it in the spirits world, hands down.
