The summer's top value rosé at case-buy pricing... Tuesday Jul 12th, 2022 [View in Browser]( [KL-emailheader.gif]( Back in Stock! The Must-Try Rosé of the Summer [2021 Diseño de California Sta. Rita Hills Rosé of Pinot Noir]( ($14.95) “Move over Provence—at the price, this is set to be a staple here at K&L for as long as it lasts, but our staff are already buying it by the case!” — Ryan Woodhouse, K&L Domestic Buyer --------------------------------------------------------------- This has been flying out the door - we fortunately just received the reload on the summer's top value and most popular new entry. Our relationships with California’s finest producers continue to pay big dividends in the form of our outstanding private label Kalinda wines, and now we can add a simply jaw-dropping rosé to the mix just as summer really kicks into high gear. The 2021 Diseño de California rosé is the result of a very fortuitous happenstance in which one of the Sta. Rita Hills’ premier Pinot Noir producers needed to offload inventory of what is normally a $30+ rosé at a major discount. Made by a 100-point winemaker from fruit sourced from two of Santa Barbara’s most acclaimed and coveted vineyard sites, this is easily the most astounding rosé deal of the summer. This unequivocal best buy is “a perfect summer wine as it pairs with so many foods, it makes for a wonderful apéritif, and no wine is better for day drinking,” according to domestic buyer Kaj Stromer. The rest of our staff have likewise gone absolutely over the moon for it already. There is no question that the 2021 Diseño is going to emerge as an all-time best seller, and there’s also no doubt that it's going to disappear well before the summer season comes to a close. Whether it’s six bottles or six cases, you’ll be glad you got your hands on as much of this wonderfully crowd-pleasing value champion as you could. --------------------------------------------------------------- [2021 Diseño de California Sta. Rita Hills Rosé of Pinot Noir]( Diseño de California Sta. Rita Hills Rosé of Pinot Noir]( ($14.95) Woodhouse]( | K&L Domestic Buyer | Review Date: June 16, 2022 This incredible rosé was just too good to miss! An offer came through to me from a winery we work very closely with saying a parcel of Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir rosé was available to us under a private label. The fruit, purposefully grown, picked, and pressed for rosé, is from two of the most highly regarded and sought-after vineyards in the region. The rosé was originally intended to be a $30 retail wine, but some supply chain issues left it needing a home. Already knowing the quality was a sure bet, tasting a sample simply confirmed this was going to be one of the best deals of the summer! The label - Diseño de California - is from a collection of hand-drawn, sketch maps from the late 1800s depicting numerous regions of California. These basic maps or "diseños" captured key features of the landscape like mountains, hills, rivers, trees, and roads. I love how these natural features of California's dramatic landscapes were captured in these sketches, in the same way this wine perfectly captures the cool-climate, heavily ocean-influenced region of Sta. Rita Hills in vinous form. These historical records also serve as a reminder that these Hispanic farmers were some of the first people to recognize and define California's unique geography with this series of hand-drawn maps. Despite seldom receiving the recognition they deserve, to this day the Hispanic community continues to be the central pillar of the wine industry through hard work, resilience, and a deep connection to the land. The wine is packed with bright, juicy, red berry fruits, wild herbs, and citrus peel. The ancient ocean floor-derived soils of the region lend a delicious and complex minerality to the wine that lingers right into the next sip. This super-refreshing, crisp, dry rosé has the perfect balance of bright fruit, zippy acidity, and saline minerality. Move over Provence—at the price, this is set to be a staple here at K&L for as long as it lasts, but our staff are already buying it by the case! Stromer]( | K&L Domestic Buyer | Review Date: June 17, 2022 Here is a screaming good deal on rosé just in time for the season. What should have been a $30 wine is now our best buy rosé at just $14.95, produced by one of Santa Barbara's elite winemaking teams sourcing fruit from one of their most esteemed vineyards, including a westerly vineyard site located in the best neighborhood of the Sta. Rita Hills that produces wines of great elegance with cool ocean influence. Made from 100% Pinot Noir, it possesses additional complexity to complement the sleek red cherry notes and sexy minerality. This is a perfect summer wine as it pairs with so many foods, it makes for a wonderful apéritif, and no wine is better for day drinking. The Diseño de California Rosé is firmly on my drink list. 'Tis the season, though I champion drinking rosé wine all year round. Overby]( | K&L Staff Member | Review Date: June 16, 2022 Diseño de California Sta. Rita Hills Rosé of Pinot Noir has a unique, red-fruited tartness, thirst-quenching consistency, and an extended finish. Herbal notes of sage and wild oregano linger on the front, then in the set of the end appears a mouthwatering strawberry-rhubarb pie with a soft crust finish. Drink generously and enjoy this while the weather is warm, as it is going fast! [Lindsey O'Hara]( | K&L Staff Member | Review Date: June 19, 2022 Another fabulous rosé just in time for the season! The 2021 Diseño rosé from the Sta. Rita Hills is packed with all the crushable characteristics that rosé drinkers love. The nose is super-fragrant with red berries, citrus zest, and subtle herbal notes. The palate delivers the same with minerality influenced by the cool ocean air, and the acidity is mouthwatering and refreshing. At $15 a bottle, this will be gone before rosé season is even over. Don't miss out, and best to grab a case if you can! --------------------------------------------------------------- [New Feed]( [Auction]( [Local]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [On the Trail (K&L Blog)]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [Instagram]( [Instagram]( [Facebook]( [Twitter]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [BORDEAUX]( | [NAPA]( | [BURGUNDY]( | [CHAMPAGNE]( | [ITALY]( | [RHÔNE]( | [SPIRITS]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [My Account]( | [Wine Clubs]( | [Events]( |[Gift Cards]( | [Accessories]( | [Delivery]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Missed an offer?
