Our Newest Acquisitions and Returning Favorites, All In One Place... Tuesday Apr 19th, 2022 [View in Browser]( [KL-emailheader.gif]( Whether it is a new allocation or an old favorite, below you will find our most recent additions to the diverse selection at K&L Wine Merchants. We receive new opportunities weekly, from direct imports to local distributors to carefully inspected back-vintage collections—read on for the best of this week's discoveries. Here is a look at our full list of [New Arrivals](. Here is our full list of items that are [Back in Stock](. Here you can browse [all our recent additions on the website](. [Castello Banfi] --------------------------------------------------------------- Spain continues to be arguably the greatest source of value-for-price all-stars in the Old World, thanks in large part to wines like the 2018 Ramirez de la Piscina Crianza Rioja, a 93-point overachiever that Wine Enthusiast calls "medium to full body with firm, racy tannins and a solid finish. A structured and very classic Rioja," all for a case-buy price of just $15.99. The new vintage release of an old favorite in the 2019 Raúl Pérez "Ultreia St-Jacques" Mencía Bierzo once again shows why this dynamic winemaker is one of Spain's best hidden-gem talents. This sub-$20 QPR champion routinely pulls in effusive critical praise, and the WA94 2019 vintage is once again "nothing short of spectacular" according to Luis Gutiérrez. Our Italian buyer has just secured an in-stock parcel of a top single-vineyard bottling from an epic Brunello di Montalcino vintage. The 2016 Banfi "Poggio alla Mura" Brunello di Montalcino is another absolute classic from an iconic Tuscan estate. With multiple scores of 95 and 96 points, it shows its top-tier pedigree in spades, and coupled with the generational excellence of the 2016 vintage, it's a can't-miss buy for collectors at our best-in-market, sub-$60 price. Wine Advocate's Monica Larner notes, "The wine is symmetrical, tight and elegant with long, silky tannins. This is the full Banfi package." What more could an ardent Brunello fan ask for? We've seen some truly incredible single casks from Kavalan come through our doors over the past several years, but we've never seen a deal like this—the Kavalan Solist "Moscatel" Cask Strength Single Barrel Taiwanese Single Malt Whisky at an astounding 40% off the regular price. Far from an overblown, blousy, floral bomb, there is the typical Kavalan poise and grace that has won this iconic distillery its countless accolades and awards over the years, including the 2021 Distillery of the Year at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. As David Othenin-Girard describes this 2021 SFWSC double Gold Medal winner, "I find a host of outrageous dried and fresh fruit flavors condensed into one of the most precise and delineated deliveries I've ever seen." Demand for Kavalan is always through the roof, and at this price, any savvy collector looking to maximize their purchasing power should beat a quick path and secure their bottles while they still can.
